Hello All!

My name is Kari, and this is my first time trying Dr. Cohen's diet. I am so desperate for this to work! All of the success stories on this forum have given me so much motivation. I hope to be one soon!!!

Becoming overweight has been so detrimental to my life. Not only is it unhealthy, but my self confidence has suffered tremendously. I've found myself making excuses not to go to parties or other social events because I'm ashamed. I never struggled with my weight growing up, and then all of a sudden in my mid-twenties I started gaining 10-20 lbs. per year. It happened so slowly...it kind of snuck up on me. Then I went through a divorce a couple of years ago, and lost it all. Unfortunately, I've gained it all back and then some, and now at 32-years-old, getting it off isn't quite as easy as it was in my twenties!

Another reason I want so badly to get back into shape is so that I can show my Arabian horse. My boyfriend is an Arabian trainer, and it is my dream to start showing them with him. At this weight, I'm out of breath in five minutes of posting!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read about me. Any suggestions are MORE than welcome!!!

Hello and welcome!!
this is also my first time on the cohen diet and friday will be my 4th week on the diet. it has flown by!!! i still feel like im in my second week! the first week was hell (for me anyway) and i was hungry all the time, but i got through it with the help of H2o!haha! and now i struggle to finish my meals :) the results have been amazing, iam putting clothes on that have been shoved to the back of my wardrobe for years now and finally i can fit in them!! its the only diet that is easy to stick too because the results show fast and its the best feeling!! also the food is tasty and healthy. it sounds like you know what you want ad your motivated and determined. the only thing i would advise is to use this site as when your having a bad day or even a good day its great to read peoples advise and comments to boost you more! goodluck and enjoy the journey :)

:party1: Hi Kari! Welcome to the best diet ever! No worries - you'll get the results if you follow the program exactly. I was pretty anxious myself when I started because I was concerned it was like a "crash diet." But it's not at all. Except for my first three days, I have yet to feel underfed or hungry even though I ate a meal. Amazing how the perfect balance for each of us is very satisfying. You'll be doing the other kind of "posting" in no time!!!!

Thank you all very much for your support. I am starting the diet on Monday. I'm going out of town to a horse show tomorrow, and I didn't think it would be the best idea to start the diet only two or three days before leaving for the weekend. If I were more used to it, I would take the chance, but I definitely don't want to mess up in the very beginning!
