Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am 20 yrs old and have a tendency of weighing between 160 lbs- 165 lbs. I have been struggling with my weight since I was seventeen. I had the motivation to lose it back then but was physically unable to because of a cute little thing called hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism, in relation to weight, helps put it on and fights really hard when you try to work it all off. Then I went off to college where I tried a bunch of different eating techniques and finally gave up on those and ballooned from a weight of 150 lbs to 175lbs by the end of the semester. Was definitely not a happy camper. My mom and I went to see a doctor who ran blood tests on me and concluded it was because of my thyroid that I weighed so much. Now my thyroid functions properly, and in three months without excercise and proper diet I have lost fifteen of the twenty five pounds I put on. So thats the story.
I'm officially sick of being 'overweight', I want to be able to wear cute clothes and have guys look at me. I want to fit into the dress my best friend bought me thats a size four and go out to nightclubs dancing in it when I turn 21.

My program doesn't officially start until Friday, so until then I'm eating healthy and getting all my food measured out and cooked so I can just run and grab it when its time for food... I hope the first three to four days zoom by :].:party1:

p.s. how do you get your ticker to stay permanently at the bottom of your thread?

I also have hypothyroid. You need to stay on top of it because it really never does go away. For instance, Jillian Michaels has it too. I didn't discover mine until I was near mid-20s, and by then I had been 255+.

I hope this diet works for you but make sure you are doing this for all the right reasons! It's great when guys pay attention and you can wear something you couldn't before, but there are many reasons as to why to lose weight that are more permanent, life reasons. You're going to see a lot of reactions to your change, both positive and negative, and in the end, you have to do this for you. A healthy you.

You can ask your consultant about the numbers in case there is a mistake, but they usually don't change until the start of the diet. If you have any question at all, ask them, even if they shove "read the guide!" at you. Also, the forum is great for advice. For instance, if you're in college, a cold meal like string cheese and cucumber with crackers is great, or if there's a microwave nearby, a ziplock steamer bag will make a hot meal in 2 minutes, without pots and pans and a mess.

:D

Hi, and welcome! You're going to great on this diet. Just keep your head and spirits up, and come on here when you need some encouragement on those hard days.

I'm assuming the "numbers information" you're looking for is the number of days you have left on the diet. It's easy to think that 12 weeks has 90 days, but alas there are only 84 days. So it sounds like things are right on track. Hope that helps!

You're smarter than I was lol. The days before I started the diet, I made sure and ate my guilty pleasure foods as a sort of "goodbye for 3+ months!" lol, I didn't gorge or anything, but I was eating far from healthy.

I think I had Pizza, Tacos, a Double Double from In-n-Out (Western US Burger joint chain for those who don't know) and then the night before, for my last sweet treat, MY FAVORITE!!! frosted Animal Crackers, you know the ones w/sprinkles lol. Oddly enough though, I was lucky and did not pack on 5 more lbs before starting haha.

Just remember, any time it gets rough, that it's only for a few months, then you get to spend the rest of your life looking at a thinner, healthier you! Thats where I'm at when temptation turns it's ugly head towards me =D

Good luck and welcome!

@ jheiner- ogosh I wish I could even eat that bad. Lately food allergies have been popping up everywhere leaving me no options to pig out before this thing and i ADORE In-N-Out. Plus I had my hay-day of eating bad while I was putting on the weight. If only I had slowed down and enjoyed it cause I won't lie, I don't even remember what the majority of the stuff tastes like anymore. Thanks for the advice.
