Guys ---

8th day and for some reason the veggies with each meal just arent sitting right with me... to the point I cant even really choke them down.

Maybe its the diet working, my my past of "atkins" kicking in, but all I want to do is eat the meat. I would cook bell peppers/zuchs/squash/celery/green onion in stir fry and even on the grill and It seems more than mental. my stomach just dosent want it it seems?

I love salad, but I also love ranch -dang it- so I bubbled up some very nice basalmic vinegarette in my alchemy lab yesterday... I should take a picture, looks good in my bicardi bottle hahahha.

This should last me a while hopefully... anyone else having the same problem? When I first started I loved these veggies, now my stomach aches when I eat them...

This natural? Can I go with eatting less veggies? Different seasonings and cooking methods dont seem to operate... Brocolli my fave diet veggie is not on the menu, seems strange.

Thanks guys!

Hey, JadeHawk!

MrPeel was sad about no broccoli, too - but he has grown to love cauliflower! I steam it until it's just beginning to soften, and season with a little salt, pepper, and ground herb mix. Have you tried your veggies with the cheese? My Cheesy Bits recipe is easy and good, and also the veggie faux-pizza recipe is tasty.

Celery stuffed with cream cheese? How about squash with cinnamon? Drizzle your balsamic dressing over fresh sliced tomatoes . . .

I hope this passes - you need your veggies!

Hi JadeHawk - now and then I can't stand the thought of veggies either, but then I try to disguise them a little.

Chop up some mushroom, tomato, grn pepper, onion, add some garlic powder, cumin, mexican oregano, chili powder and water, simmer till nice and thick. Use 1/2 of your cheese allowance in fat free cream cheese in a bowl, pour the chili over, sprinkle top with mozzarella, top w/cilantro and you've got a tasty "chili cheese" dip to go with crackers of your choice. Its almost like cheating!

Another option is to take a whole portabello mushroom, sprinkle with a good steak seasoning, grill on he BBQ, top with cheese.

Use your cauliflower to make 'mashed potato-ish dish". Steam until soft, add a little butter flavored cooking spray, salt,
pepper, garlic powder, nutmeg, parsley, and mash away, add hot water to get the consistency you like.

Iisrias, not to burst your bubble on the wonderful cauliflower mashed potato-ish dish, but I asked my consultant about using the butter flavored cooking spray and alas, they said not to use it. Not sure how I'll live without it. :(

Oh Gettinskinny - what a sad sad message that is. hehe I was afraid of that, my plan said limited amt of cooking spray, so of course I went with the good stuff, I've been using it all along...I guess I'll stick to the olive oil spray. sigh

Seriously though, thanks for the info.

{hi} there Everyone

Mmmm! Nice recipe's ladies!!! :clapping3: These veggies sound really good and I hope they help Jadehawk to make friends with his veggies again.

A couple of comments: Veggies are a must. You must eat all of them and you must eat your proteins. Together they form a chemical reaction inside your body. Only fruit and crackers are optional.

Jadehawk, try to find something that you like or you could try making soup if all else fails. Remember that some veggies will give you a whole lot of bulk because they weigh lighter. Other veggies are heavier and result in less food on your plate. For now, given your feeling towards your veggies, rather choose the heavier veggies so that you have less bulk... I really hope you feel much better soon! :comfort:

Iisrias: Please note that chilli powder and steak seasoning are not allowed to be used on the 1st Personal Diet Program - you can bring them back again during the Refeeding Program.

I've not heard of Mexican oregano before, but if it is a variety of oregano I don't see a problem with this, however, if it is a mixture of oregano with chilli spices, please don't use it while being on the program.

Always remember: no more than two cracker portions at a time, more than this will trigger insulin.

Wishing you all HAPPY SLIMMING {cheerleader}

Thanks Shasha - I've checked the ingredients carefully, the steak seasoning I've used is only garlic, onion, black pepper, & fennel, are these spices/herbs OK or not allowed? The oregano is just a variety of regular oregano that I purchased in the international section of the grocery store (it's the dried variety, doesn't seem to be as strong in flavor) and is not a blend of any kind. Oops on the chili powder...I'll stop.

{hi} there Iisrias

(I can't help LOL {rofl} whenever I type your name!!!)

You are allowed to use garlic, black pepper, & fennel, as well as oregano but technically speaking the onion is not a herb, but a vegetable and on the 1st Personal Diet is needs to be limited.

In the case of a couple of sprinkles from the jar, it's going to be impossible to measure how much onion there is, but I thought I'd mention this to you for the sake of a thorough reply :flirt:
