I am back from a 10 day vacation (a family vist) overseas and it's so nice to see how well you are all doing - I really missed this forum.
I was concerned about the impact of this vacation on my diet, as I sually gain 5-10 lbs during these vacations...
I had most of my meals (lunch and dinner) in restaurants but I tried to order food which is allowed in the program, e.g. chicken/fish with steamed asparagus, salad and low fat/fat free cheese, etc... I also tried to eat the allowed quantity - as much as I could. I really enjoyed all my meals and it was a great feeling to feel not so FULL (like I used to feel in the past after having these meals) and being able to shop for clothing after finishing the meal !!!!
First thing I did when I got back home was weighing myself and I was thrilled: I am down 4.5 lbs!!!
I guess one of the things I learned while being on this program is that your body is probably happier with much less food than you think...
Also, I was inspired by my sister who completed this program last year (losing 115 lbs!!!) and lost a couple of lbs since completing this progrm. It was amazing to see how well and healthy she looks and the kind of clothes she buys now!!! She does not stop talking about this program!!!:jumping2:

Hahaha, thats great!

Man I can only imagine being overseas and not being able to go crazy with the local fare.

I went to japan to visit my brother and AUTHENTIC japanese food, espically home cooked is SOOOO tasty.

Its gotta be REALLY empowering to be able to control your intake and then feel so good about it!

I know Vacations are going to kill my diet, might be my weak point... canceled my brithday trip to vegas because of the diet... lol I like to drink a little bit ;)

Keep up the good work!

{hi} there Everyone

MAMA did very well and she's a model student of WHAT CAN BE DONE... {goodjob} Where there is a will, there is a way and this Cool Mama has just shown everyone that she's got both the WILL and the WAY!

JADEHAWK: {noway} Sorry to remind you, but that's plain old BAD THINKING: ''I know Vacations are going to kill my diet''... NO THEY ARE NOT!!!

When faced with that delema, simply write to your consultant ahead of time and they will give you some travel tips that will help you on your trip and on your road to success...

I too just returned from a week's vacation. I was really scared as I had just had my second blood test analyzed and they did not see the results they wanted. I would guess because I was not drinking the amount of water I am supposed to. Anyway, the second reason I was scared was my 8 week weigh in was the day we got home!

I weighed myself before we left to have a baseline. I did splurge on seafood(naked!) so had way too much protein. When in Florida, on the gulf coast, I can not turn down seafood! I ate tons of shrimp, mahi mahi, crab, lobster. I admit I even snuck some fried calamari! Drumroll...... I lost a half pound even though I went overboard on the protein.
And another 2 pounds in the next two days! I know we are not supposed to weigh every day but I needed to see that progress.

So after feeling not so good when I got the blood test results, slow loss this last 4 weeks, overdoing it on vacation, I am starting back 100% with a boost! Those 2.5 pounds are an amazing will power booster!

Moral of this story, don't give up! If you slip up, don't beat yourself up! If your blood test isn't perfect, don't beat yourself up. If you re-dedicate yourself to this program, you will be rewarded eventually!

So, keep on keepin' on ladies!

Hey Mama,

Welcome back!! I am so amazed at how well you did on your vacation! I know you were worried about it and look how you conquered your concerns and were rewarded with such wonderful results! I AM SO IMPRESSED!!!

And Miss Iisrias, your vacation experience wasn't so terrible (well except for the fried calamari...) but good for you for getting right back on track and finding new motivation. You're doing great and we are all excited to see your progress.

Well done ladies...

Glad to hear it can be done while vacationing. I have several trips coming up and was concerned. However, due to my occupation, I am in situations where I have to eat out often, I just follow the rules and knock on wood, It hasn't derailed my weight loss to date.

Great job on the continued loss.

Bronwyn, as much as I would have LOVED to overeat crab, lobster, and shrimp, that was all Ifulwood, I can't take credit for that fantastic vacation - but BIG congratulations to you Ifulwood for a fun vacation combined with successful weight loss!

And thanks to you Bronwyn for the cheerleading - you're so sweet!

Thank you everyone,
I guess I can attribute my "good behaviour" to being on a strict program like 1PD together with the immediate reward of the fast weight loss. I guess it makes you think twice before you cheat, even if you are on vacation... Usually, I am not this "good"...In the past, being on other diet plans, which are not that strict, (and I have been on quite a few...), I was just allowing myself a "little bit more" than the plan allows (and more, and more, and more....:munchies:), finding myself gaining at least 5lbs!!!
Shasha - the most amazing thing about my sister is that when I saw her in August she was about 30 lbs away from her goal weight, although she looked great after losing 80 lbs. But she was able to lose the 30lbs (and even more) by November. She is now "half" of the person she was last February (and she is 56!!!). I showed her the forum and she said she was very happy for the people that are currently on the program because she needed something like this forum. I told her to join us, we will see...

{hi} there Everyone

If you are going on a holiday or travelling or eating out... please write to your consultant ahead of time and ask them to give you some tips on how to make the best choices.

The whole idea behind these tips is to minimize your setback so that you do not undo all your hard work!

Now, while we are talking about deviating on holiday... I want you to know up front if you follow the guidelines you should be able to minimize your setback but if you go and eat cookies and sweets and load in the starches you will end up gaining weight so, a word of caution: please don't go down that road!

{goodjob} to Lfullwood for loosing 1/2 a pound while being on holiday & I'm thrilled to hear that you are 100% back on track - PLEASE STAY ON YOUR SUPER SLIMMING TRACK!!! {cheerleader}

Sorry Iisrias!!! Way to go Ifulwood!!! Boy was I ever tired and out of it yesterday. That is the worst I've felt on this diet. I think I overdid it at the kid's party on Sunday and was also coming off my TOM too. I feel better today, but still a little lagging in energy.
