Trying something new. I've never been on a diet in my life, but have wanted to lose weight for some time now. I'm a 31 yr old, mother of 3. I work casual at the credit union in my town. My goal....to shock the socks of my husbands family, who we only see once a year at christmas...hopefully they won't recognize me. Here's to dieting!! :)

Welcome...I too am new to this. Just finished week 1. This program seems simple enough, although I am starting to have cravings. Good luck!
Hi Faith,
Welcome aboard! You'll love the diet! I just finished my 4 weeks and lost 19 lbs.
I still have cravings, but overall the diet isn't hard. The results are a huge motivation.
Congrads on the first 3lbs lost!!

Thank you all for the welcomes, same to all of you. I tell you, day 4 was awful, but day 5 was much better and today I feel like i might actually get something accomplished around the house. :) Or just go out and escape the mess. :)

Escape the mess!!! Then have a lovely cup of coffee and think "being thin and messy is so much better than fat and tidy". How is your day going? Are you starting to get into the routine a bit more? I find the weekends to be so hard because I am always running around and I like to sleep in a bit. The sleep is great but not eating breakfast until 9am throws me off. I actually look forward to monday...for the first time in my life.

I hear you Kitty...I sort of escaped the mess. I vacuumed my living room and then sat and enjoyed a cup of coffee with the nice clean floor. I'm working today, and I had to eat my breakfast at 6:30, so I could eat my lunch when I go home at 11:30. That was wierd, having to get up that early to eat. I'm still getting used to eating breakfast. Wasn't a breakfast eater before. I am getting into more of a routine. I went grocery shopping yesterday and it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would...seeing all the foods I loved to eat. So, yah, that's where I'm at today. How about you?

Faith you are a trooper! Anyone who gets up at 6:30am for breakfast just so they can stick with the program is dedicated. I am really proud of you. I am a breakfast person but I like to wait a bit so this has been an adjustment for me too. I am usually pretty boring-egg with tomato allowance and cucumber. I don't limit my salt like some people do but I am trying different spices as well. As far as cooking for the family maybe just make extra of what you are having. If I am having chicken salad they always want it too...so I give it to them. Healthy eating...who knew it was contaigous. What are your plans for mothers day?

i've almost gotten to the point (and I stress ALMOST) that I eat vicariously through my husband! LOL! I fix him desserts and such and thouroughly enjoy watching him eat it...not that I don't still want it, but I love to bake and I just cant see myself not baking for 12 weeks!Maybe it's self-torture, but I do psych myself out about it!
:hungry:
my husband!
I'm with you in the morning Faith, I'm an early breakfast person. I get up at 5 and fix my husbands breakfast and prepare his lunch. Then get my boys up, get them breakfast and ship them off to school, somewhere in between I eat my breakfast. I find that if I prepare it and it eat while I'm busy getting everyone ready in the morning, it last longer and I'm not tempted on munching on the food I'm preparing for them.
I have to say my cravings are starting to subside. Although I hate when I'm sitting down late at night watching the baseball game or something with my family and they have ice cream commercials come on. Torture!!! I just keep telling myself its not worth it!!
Speaking of Mother's Day ... what is everyone doing? We usually go out to eat, but that's not happening this year. I thought if it was nice I would take my kids to the park and have a picnic.
Happy Mothers Day to you all!!!:innocent2:
