View Full Version : Four Weeks Down!

Well, it's been four weeks. I actually never thought I'd make it this far. At first I had to take one meal at a time and not even think about how long I had to be on this diet - if I thought too hard about it, I went into despair! Then it got to where I could think "Ok, I can make it another week." Now I think I am settled in for good.

After four weeks I've lost 20 pounds. I feel GREAT! I have WAY more energy than I ever did. Instead of feeling tired and worn out after I eat, I actually feel really energetic. I've gone down a whole clothing size and had to buy new undies because - well, wearing undies that are too big is just downright uncomfortable! I've had comments from many friends and co-workers that I look great, I'm slimming down, I look years younger, etc.

I am fortunate enough to work with people who are absolutely great and very supportive and encouraging. Not once have I gotten any negative remarks or people trying to give me sweets or doing anything to discourage me. That helps a lot!

Just wanted to report in after the initial four weeks! Thanks all for being there!:party1:

Hi Julie,
Congratualtions on 20lbs- that is great!!
Its so nice you are surrounded by positive people- it helps keep you in mentally good place.
Good luck on the next 8 weeks, it sounds like a long time but it goes really fast.
Get use to shopping for new clothes, the sizes melt away- (perfect timing too- spring & summer coming)
Congratualions on break 200- that is always a memorable day- hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you all for your encouragement. I really appreciate it. And, yes, KMac, I did celebrate the "under 200 mark" - though it was done very quietly as I am still not ready to tell anyone my starting weight! And I can't wait to go shopping! I got a $200 gift card for Dress Barn from my hubby for Christmas and I'm just itchin' to spend it!

Rayo - great to you too on the 20 lbs! I'm sure the sizes will be dropping very soon!

ooOo Shopping, my most favorite word in the English dictionary. Congratulations on your loss so far! I can't wait to read more about your progress. KMac is totally right about the time going by fast after the first 4 weeks; I felt like I was there just yesterday.

I just had the strangest realization! I went shopping and got a bag of cat litter and when I was carrying it up the stairs (it was pretty heavy) I looked at the bag and it was a 20 pound bag. I thought "WOW!" I lost THAT! What a way of making it very real to myself. I used to carry that around with e EVERYWHERE I went. Whoa - scary! Can't imagine what it will be like to carry around the whole 80 lbs I need to lose! No wonder I have so much more energy!

That is a great realization! I had not really crossed my mind to look at it that way. Have you tried any of the recipes in the forum? Which is your favorite?

I love those kinds of realizations... I used to look at bags of apples in the supermarket to visually see how much weight I've lost.
