I think you will definatly pass it this month, great job so far, you loosing more than I am! Congrats on loosing those dress sizes too! I can wait to get into smaller pants toooo

KMac,
My next goal is loosing 20% which would be a total of 42 pounds. Being indian I like spicy well most than other indians. So I have been adding green chillies to almost everything. However, my counsellor says that I cant have jalapenos..:(
How are you doing?

Hi all.
Its been awile, well 4 more weeks. So on my eight week mark I lost ten pounds and I lost a total of 30 pounds. I checked my weight about two weeks ago and I was at 180 so I have not lost any pounds this last two weeks :(
I keep getting compliments but I think people are just being fake and just want to have something say. My pants sizes have not decreased yet :(
I know I should be happy to loose the weight but I cant help but focuse on the negatives, MY ARMS are huge!
I also have been eating ALL my crakers, which I never used to do.
How is everyone else doing??

Hi Rayo,
Learn to take a compliment- I know for me it was hard- it made me uncomfortable. I don't think the people were "faking it" people started noticing my weight loss at 25-30 pounds, You are shrinking, you might not see it in your pants, but check your inches.. its really amazing. I use to have big arms, now they are slim, I can even wear sleeveless dress, shirts etc.. its nice because I NEVER wore sleeveless - my upper arms looked really big. Following dc1, my arms look somewhat ripped, like I was working out & the best part was.. I wasnt..lol

Hang in there Rayo!! I agree with KMAC that we all need to learn to take a compliment. It is very hard! I am still working on this. When I wasn't losing pounds I was losing inches. Check that out and continue to visit this forum for strength and support.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am just frustrated but I have to remind myself I did not gain the weight overnight so I cant expect to loose the weight overnight ( even though that would be great!) :)
I ate one serving of extra crakers..:(.
Well tommorrow, I will start fresh even though I keep thinking of those CRACKERS!!
I am going away next weekend to Atlantic city becaue its two of my friends bday, so any advice on how to handle the weekend, preparing foods is not really an option....
Oh and going for a bday party this Sat, but that I think I can handle becasue its only a couple of hours and there should be salad and some sort of grilled chicken.

I feel bad that I have not to keep with everyones success, but I cant seem to log on from work anymore :(

Take care everyone

Hi Rayo,

I totally understand your frustration, I lost 20 pounds during my first 4 weeks also; and then 8 weeks barely lost 10. Yikes! I felt like maybe I was doing something wrong. The past couple of weeks were pretty frustrating for me too, and then this last week I lost 6 pounds. I have no idea what I could have possibly done that was different from the previous two weeks. You can do this! Unfortunately I don't really have any experience with traveling and preparing meals; but I do remember reading threads that recommend either a hot plate to prepare food or ordering Greek Salads with the salad dressing on the side. I hope that helps (at least a little bit).

I think you and I must have started around the same time and have a similar goal. And the weird thing is that even our loss seems very similar. How strange. Maybe we will be indicators of each others success :)

Hi Rayo,

Look at it this way - you have lost 30 pounds in two months. That is stupendous! Do you know anyone not on 1PD who has lost 30 pounds in 2 months? You're doing a fantastic job, Rayo - and you have no reason to feel discouraged. I know things can get a little mundane while doing the diet - it's up to you to realize this and do what you need to make it work for you. Communicate with your consultants - ask for suggestions on what you might do to shake things up.

While I was on the diet, I would plan my day and make sure I ate before going to a party. That way I would know I hadn't erroneously cheated. People really don't care - let your host know in advance, especially if it's a sit down dinner. Yes, I did that too - ate before going to a sit down dinner (and no, I didn't eat a second time). This diet is only for a short period of time... people understand and actually become your cheerleaders when you involve them. I also took a couple bottles of sparkling water to drink to parties - pour it into a wine glass and you will feel as much a part of the group as if you were drinking alcohol.

Before you leave for Atlantic City you should talk to your friends and let them know you want their help staying on your diet. You realize they are there to celebrate and you want to celebrate with them but right now you can't do it with food and drink. The important part is that you're together having fun. When I had to eat out, I stuck to things like grilled chicken, seared tuna or petite filet with a lot of salad greens or a vegetable. You might want to think about taking some individually wrapped string cheese (measure your portions out before you leave so you'll know how much you can eat) and vegetables/fruit for meal #1.

I agree with KMac and Mommabear - take your measurements. Sometimes the scale doesn't move but the measuring tape shows a huge loss. I don't understand how that happens but it happens.

We all get a little down. Recognize that you are going through one of these periods - you'll bounce back. Stay strong - you can do this. Next time you're at the market look at the bags of apples... you have lost ten bags of apples - in 2 months!! It's amazing. Keep up the good work!

Hi all!!
Thanks for all the great advice and words of encouragement. I have not been online as much because I domnt have my lap top anymore :(. WEll guys I have completed the 12 weeks!!!!! and I have lost a total of 40 pounds. According to DR. Cohen I need to loose 40 more, but I am not sure if I want to be too skinny...lets see as I get closer to my goal.
When I went to AC, I ate alot of salad and grilled chicken. Guys we went to the bogata buffet and all I had was a tea, one egg veg omellete, and fruits....and there were times my friends wanted me to taste different things but I was strong and said no!. They were very supportive and very proud of my weight loss .
I was a bit discouraged when I went into the outlet and bought a pair of jeans from gap. My size 14 was too big and I was fitting into my size 12 but when I went into gap, I was back into a 14!!!:(
Well, I signed up for another 12 weeks, I hope I reach my goal this time around...do youll think its possible??

Please let me know how everyone else is doing.....miss being on here and being motivated!
