Hi everyone!

I am on day 11 and so far so good. But yesterday and today I have been getting extremely hungry for no apparent reason. I'm ready to chuck it and go for my favorite fast food just to cure it. Ok, not really, but I have been having cravings and hunger for 2 days - not fun!

Is this normal? I have not deviated in the slightest and I have spent the previous days on the plan without this problem (except for the first 2couple days). Any ideas? Or do I just have to let it pass?

PS: I asked my counselor about it but am waiting to hear back!

Make sure your crackers are right. 6 crackers in weight might equal 10 or so crackers in real life. Calculate the weight of their serving times the amount they gave you, and you can build up crackers to THAT weight.

I found that plain rice cakes help when I am hungry. So you can have rice cakes instead of crackers.

Be sure to drink 2 liters of water every day and then you can eat fruit too.

Thanks! I use only saltines and have 2 for every one cracker allowance (as per the link on crackers). I haven't dared experiment with other crackers so that I stay within the limitations of them. Plus I actually like saltines! I did get some rice cakes the other day and maybe I'll try that. Does it also have to weigh the same as the crackers would?

I realized that I also had a pretty active day yesterday (more than usual since starting) so that might have something to do with it as well. I guess I'll just suck it up (and pass right on by that favorite fast food place) and take it easy for a few days.

Thanks!

Hi there,
Yes hunger can be normal but it should pass in a few days or so. I always get really hungry during that time of the month or when I am very active. Make sure to eat everything you are allowed, drink all your water. I find that caffeine helps, so I will drink 2 cans of diet pop plus a couple cups of coffee throughout the day constantly sipping on something.
Some people say to take an extra multivitamin when unusually hungry at lunch time.
Good luck!

Hi Julie,

I was reading your post and realized that it's been a couple of weeks. Are you still experiencing excess hunger? Most recently I have really taken the advice on water to heart. The only downside is that I end up making lots of trips to the ladies room. I remember reading once that people often confuse thirst for hunger.
