Someone please yell at me! I'm in the midst of week 7 and I just cheated!! I feel awful and guilty and I have no idea why I did it! I've resisted so many times and never really had a problem doing it but today I just blew it. I didn't pig out, I just had some cheese (non diet) and some nuts but I ate stuff NOT on the diet. WHY!?! I've been doing so well, too. Today, my clothes are so loose, this will probably be the last time I can wear them....oh, maybe it's because I'm PMS-ing but I don't want to mess this up. It's been going so well! Please help me find my motitvation and get back on track!:praying:

Okay, flwrgrlie - you've been quite naughty but I won't yell at you. Remember Shasha's saying: a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips! (or something like that)
The diet is very effective at demonstrating how little food we really need to function & be healthy - it's not your body asking for cheese and nuts, it's your brain! {pan} We get sabotaged by our mental craving for variety and taste stimulation. The diet works really well if you let your body take the wheel for a while - try to keep your mind from dwelling on thoughts of tempting but forbidden treats. I know for me, at least, keeping busy helps the process.
Tomorrow, you're back on track, I just know it!!!!!! {friendhug}

hey, girl!!! :flower:
i understand u so very well, yet i was lucky enough 2 not go through the whole process and even put the stuff i long 4 in my mouth...
somedays i dont even know how i should get through the day, but in the end i'll manage-
what keeps me from actually eating the goodies-2day it was the most deli organic vanillia-cream i fed my son- is that i smell and at the very instant i'm tempted 2 eat it, the knowledge comes 2 mind, how VERY VERY VERY BAD I'D FEEL AFTER having cheated!!!
and in that moment i dont even have 2 decide, as iz not worth the trouble.. :disagree:
smell and look at the food and ALWAYS ASK YOURSELF:
"IS IT WORTH IT?"
i havent found any indulgence yet that was worth feeling soooooo very bad afterwarz!!!!!
mayb that helps next time..
and about 2day- just let it b!! iz done, so whaz the use in yelling or arguing? :eyebrow:

Hi flwrgrlie
Sorry to hear about your deviation but we are not yelling here. We are your friends who want you to be successful and we understand this - we all went through the same process.
The temptation is big ... :pig:
Here are some ideas that worked for me when I felt that I am going to eat something forbidden:
GO AND LOOK AT YOUR IMAGE IN THE MIRROR
REMEMBER HOW YOU LOOKED BEFORE YOU STARTED YOUR DIET:aint:
ASK YOURSELF IF YOU WANT TO LOSE MORE WEIGHT OR GAIN IT BACK {noway}
ASK YOURSELF IF THAT FORBIDDEN FOOD YOU DESIRE IS WORTH LOSING THE BATTLE
LOOK YOURSELF IN THE EYE AND TELL YOURSELF THAT YOU ARE STRONG ... SAY IT LOUD ...
FINALLY, THROW THAT FOOD TO THE TRASH
Seriously, try to have at home only food that is allowed on the diet or food for the family.
OTHER GREAT IDEAS FROM CUSTOMERS:
1. Hang on a photo on your fridge of yourself when you were at the top of your weight.
2. Get out of the house if you feel the urge to eat and take a stroll, walk, or do any activity that can take your mind away from food.
3. Call your best friend and confess about your cravings. Talk, talk and talk.
4. (This is a funny but effective): Do not keep at home any food that you like.
5. Buy yourself those clothes that you want to wear when you reach your target. The expenses may add to your motivation.
I hope that any of the above or all will do

Dear Flwrgrlie,
I am impressed that you are admitting your mistake to us and asking us to "yell at you". I think the fact that you are owning your mistake and that you want to move past it and get right back on track is HUGE!!! All of the advice above is wonderful and please read it carefully and put it to good use. I think my main motivation for not cheating is that I've come this far and I don't want to be on this diet any longer than I have to!! I am so looking forward to the refeed!!! You are doing great, in spite of your little deviation, and you will continue to do great. We are here if you need us. Next time logon FIRST!!! Before you put the bad foods in your mouth!!! (There a little yelling...)

Thank you to all of you. Your responses gave me some great advice and motivation to stay "clean". So far, I've been back on the diet 100% and hope to stay that way. It means a lot to know I can come on the forum and be truthful and have all of you give me a pat on the back or a steady arm to lean against in my times of weakness. TOGETHER WE WILL BE SUCCESS ON THIS JOURNEY TO SKINNY! Thank you, my friends.

{hi} there :flower:Grlie
:bighug:
Mistakes happen, all we ask is that you don't stay stuck there, but that you MOVE ON... get up, shake off the past and don't let the past determine your future...
One word of caution though, please be very careful now, especially for the next week or so - your hormones were unbalanced, by this I'm referring to insulin that was triggered, this would be followed by blood sugar lowering too fast. When that happens your body does not release enough serotonin, the hormone which controls your craving for food, especially starch.
The result of the lower serotonin can be that you start to feel cravings or hungry. If you eat wrong again you could end up wanting more and more and that is not what you want... so, take Secretary's advise and get rid of the wrong foods ie: no more nuts in your home... give them away or throw them away - they are not worth your hopes and dreams.
We find that pms does play a big role and so I'd like to recommend the following: this time next month please take a second multi-vitamin at lunchtime. Extra vitamins help to control cravings because they provide your body with extra needed nutrients.
If you find that you are hungry, please avoid the yogurt and the cheese options because these are the least filling meals.
Thanks for your honesty and for getting this off your chest, now we'd all love for you to move on past this little fall and carry on making a success of your program! YOU CAN DO IT!!! {cheerleader}

I have had a VERY hard time saying on track ever since... well Christmas! I have tried yelling at my self, telling my self it's not worth it, NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS. I just have this huge mental block. I have even declared a junk food day in the past! This week I am doing very well so far. I am planning to keep it up, but I know the urge will come to haunt me. One of my giggest challenges is that my husband had weight loss surgery, so now he can eat what ever he wants and he does. I have told him that I can't do this by my self and that I need his help via putting foods away before I get home or anything. At times he just tells me "you can't have that". Than I just want to eat it in spite. When in fact I am only doing it against my self not him. I am now into my third session of diet, I should have been done in the second session easily, but I keep hanging my self. I am determined to get it done! I really think having this forum will help.

hey, nailer202!
first of all
WELCOME 2 this group!! and:
WELL DONE - being so good with so little support!!
(hope i got u rite and not doing your hubby wrong!!)
i know xactly what u mean, as my environment is not supportive at all...
:sadeyes:xxxxxxxxxxxxxx:sadeyes:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
what kind of treatment did your husband undergo so that he doesnt have 2 watch what he's eating? (were his problems so severe, as these op's r nt done 4 no reason, rite? at least not in europe..)
i think that having had surgery 4 reasons of weight and health issues, then stuffing ones face and not taking care of whaz going in might not xactly do him all that good in the long run!!
so i think, no! I KNOW that U R ON THE RITE PATH!!!
obviously iz the harder way, but the benefiz r waaay bigger and better!!!
so, keep up the good work, my dear!!
we're all in this 2gether!!!
we'll support whenever u need it--
thaz a promise!!! :peace:

Dear Nailer202,
Yes - WELCOME!!! And ditto to all that Cyberella said. It is so hard to do if you do not have the support at home. I will say that my husband still has naughty food around the house... some baked chips, some little candies here and there... and has been having a glass or two of wine almost every night. All things I would LOVE to have, but even more I am LOVING watching the scale move down down down and my clothes are getting way too big. I actually fit into size 6 jeans yesterday!!! I haven't worn a size 6 anything for at least 15 years!!!! This diet does work, but you cannot deviate at all. I'm so glad you logged on. Please let us know when you need support and we're here to share in your successes too!!!
You can do this!!!

flwrgrlie - I feel your pain!!! I too live in a house where everyone else eats whatever they want. It makes it really hard with the temptations all around. But, you just gotta stay focused on the goal. What I do is put all their stuff in the pantry and I simply DON'T GO THERE!!! :)
Bronwyn, W-O-W, a size 6?!?!?!?!? Girllllllllllllllllll, how in the world can you fit into a size 6 and still need to lose 31 pounds. We won't be able to see you when you turn sideways with that much more weight gone. ;)

WOW! A 6! I got married in a size 6. Personally, I think the dress size was wrong at the time but I bought it because it said SIZE 6! I also have one paid of jeans that SAY 6... but I think they are really 8's. Speaking of 8's... I'm back in my size 8's. WOO HOO!
And BTW, I agree... how you can possibly still need to lsoe weight? You're going to melt away on us!
Congratulations! Gives me hope that I'm going to make it!
And perhaps it will knock out all the nasty thoughts of cheating. And yes, I do have them. And yes, I have cheated. But it didn't MEAN anything. :) Seriously, it didn't taste good and I regretted it right afterward. It was a comfort food craving in response to some family stuff that I am heading to TN to address. I'm looking for long term comfort - not temproary food induced comfot. :)
Ciao!

Hi Girls,
Well, in fairness, they are Levi's size 6 and they are bit stretchy. I'm probably more a 6-8 right now. They were definitely tight in the belly (my biggest problem area) but not so tight they were uncomfortable or unsightly (I think you knwo what I mean by that... nothing worse than trying to squeeze into a size you aren't ready for!). Also - I have about 22 more pounds to lose (I'll update my ticker after my 8 week weigh in on Monday) to get to the upper range given to me by Dr. Cohen. I think it's a reasonable weight range for me although I haven't weighed that little since I was 19-20 years old! We'll see... I'm pretty short too (not quite 5' 4") so I don't think I'll be disappearing entirely.
Congrats on getting into your size 8 BarbieGrrrl!!! Doesn't it feel great?!? See - you're on your way to melting away too!

Flwrgrlie- Sorry it took me so long to respond. My grades were due this week and I still had a huge test to grade. So, I have been under a pile of papers for awhile. Sorry to hear about your little"hiccup". But you are strong enough to jump right back on and finish the journey. I'm there with you to the end.

We are a nice pair and that's what this is for... Being there for each other when we're down and helping each other celebrate when there's cause to! You are a joy, joy, joy, even when you are "grumpy". Honestly, my weight loss has been a lot slower than I had hoped too but even with that, this has worked better and faster than anything else I have tried so am trying to focus on being happy with ANY results.

bron :love5: , i like your gratitude and patience and am happy that most days i can b just the same-
rite now i think iz the time of month again (WOW! time really flies, hum!?)
.. i'm so unhappy emotionally and i feel hautend, cause the less i perform perfectly, the more everyone around here is on my case...
obviously iz true what we used 2 say in my former company.. "working" here is like an employment as a prostitute: the better u perform, the more they screw u!
i only realize now that i'm weak, tired and hungry and not capable of being the willing, subserving and always helpful ghost around here how much i'm taken 4 granted! {deadhorse} (that should describe it)
{sorry} 4 complaining again- i dont wanna b a pain!
sorry once more - but it feels better, now iz "out my fingers"..
rite now i sure am way less joy joy joy- i hug u dearly 4 being so nice 2 me!!! :bighug:
