Since there are no commercials/advertising at all in the U.S., how did you hear about this diet?

Can we share how we heard about it in this folder?

If you are from another country, was it advertised there?

I'll start: A friend of mine lost weight miraculously quick and shared with me her discovery of this diet AFTER she was done with refeed. She looked great and happy! I had to try it, too! She heard of it from another person who heard from another person. It was all word of mouth.

My mother sees a chiropractor that offered a Weight Loss Seminar one evening to discuss various options for losing weight. I asked if I could join her. The chiropractor had a family member do this program and was successful with it. Out of the choices he provided to us, I chose this plan because of the fact that it works to enhance the HGH and we didn't have to exercise to get results. My mother and I love this program! I've passed the word on about it to others and posted the website on Facebook and my pictures.

My bf's friend is dating a woman who did 1pd and lost just under 100 pounds in about 6 months from what they've said. She was already thin by the time I met her and only had about 10 pounds left to go to get to her goal weight.

I was trying to figure out what I was going to do to lose my weight. I asked her a few times, but she blew me off and never returned my phone calls. So then when I talked to her bf next, I asked him to see if he knew what it was. I was very surprised when he did know the name of it.

That night I looked it up and went over everything on the website. The next day I was filling out the registration form and paying for the bloodtest.

Great to hear everybodies stories so far.

I was browsing the internet one day of my most favorite South African Magazine 'Sarie' ( I live and work abroad) and there on the cover was one of the soap opera stars which lost 20kg - they were doing a story on how to 're- do' her waredrobe after she has lost all this weight. So I went back on the articles and there she mentioned that she went on this Dr Cohen's diet. I read his website from top to bottom and signed on also within a couple of weeks.

My mom's almost signed and she wil also be come a Cohenian in the next days. :clapping3:

I'm on a distribution list for a woman I took training from a few years ago. In one of her newsletters, she mentioned that she had gained weight (she was quite slender when I knew her) but found a healthful diet and dropped 20 pounds in practically no time at all. She mentioned that she knew of others who had success losing greater amounts of weight. No hard sell, just a mention in her newsletter to send a note if interested in more information. I did. Here I am, less than a year later and 100 pounds lighter!

Great post idea!

I am in the U.S. and heard from a friend at work about her sister having troubles losing weight. She had found a diet from South Africa and was very successful. She has kept the weight off for two years.

I mulled it over, read everything online including every one of these posts and joined telling myself this was the last diet I would ever try. It would either work or I was going to have to choose between surgery and staying fat for the rest of my life.

It has WORKED!!! I am 14 lbs. away from my goal and feel fantastic!

My family doctor recommended the program to me. He had a few patients who told him about the program and how successful they were with their weight loss.

I read about Dr' Cohen's diet in a magizine ( Peope, I think). The actess from King of Queens was talking about how she lost her post baby weight, it was Dr Cohen's. I checked out the web-site and still wasn't sure, the dr. being in another country, communication only via internet etc. Then a few months later I saw my son's friends father and he lost about 80lbs, and I asked hi how he did it and low-&-behold DR COHEN's. He went over everything with me and I joined that night.

We had friends in Australia that had all gone on it (6) and done a brilliant job in losing the weight...at the time I never thought of it as I was slender...funny how the circle turns...here I am and on my way to success also!

The same co-worker as mommabear discussed it with us at lunch one day. I had tried so many diets, I refused to plop more money down for another one. THEN, I saw the success mommabear was having and I thought, "Why not give one more diet a try." After all, no pills, no icky shakes and no surgery were worth trying. I would also have a great support system in mommabear so I knew I couldn't fail. I signed up quickly and will sign up again and again until I have reached the end - no matter how long it takes. After losing during the first session, I tell everyone I know about the program. It has been worth it, changing my lifestyle, recognizing my triggers and becoming healthier. I am so happy with the results.

One of my best friends told me about Dr. Cohen and 1st personal diet...she heard about it from other friends and has been witness to their incredible shrinking month to month. It seemed a little too good to be true, so I spent quite a bit of time researching via the Internet and this forum. I have tried all kinds of diets and quick fixes in the past, but nothing that stuck or resulted in the type of permanent change I need. While I am only on day 4, I am a complete believer and am so thankful to God (and my friend for telling me) that I discovered Dr. Cohen!!

In response to your question about how did I learn about the Cohen diet. There was a lady in my office who was talking about her husband and daughter being on the plan after she had seen a neighbor of theirs. The neighbor had lost so much, my coworker thought she had surgery. It came at the right time, I was ready to do something about getting the weight off. I have done it on my own before by watching what I ate and practically living at the gym. I have actually never lost weight without exercising, so this has been quite strange.

In the office I work there are two nurses that have been on 1PD and have had great success. One has lost over 50lbs, the other over 25. Watching them wittle away was such an inspiration that my friend and I wanted to get on the bandwagon. We both have tried other diets, WW and the like and just couldn't manage to stick with anything long because it just seemed to take forever to lose any weight. We both signed up just before Christmas so we could start our diets with the new year. It will be 4 weeks for me this Friday. I know I have lost 14 pounds already because I cheated and just HAD to get on the scale but it was more of an incentive for me to keep going. Since then my daughter and future son-in-law have also signed up and will most likely start their journey this Friday as well. I really thought I would feel more deprived than I do, I have really good energy, sleep well, and the only thing I really miss is cream in my coffee! My fear is that I will be overly tempted on the 14 day cruise I have planned for early March. I want so much to keep on tract but I do want to enjoy myself as well. That will be a deviation I'm sure but I will mindfully be able to keep in check as it will be 2 months by then that I have been following the diet. Wish me luck!!!.

I heard about this diet from my doctor. I made a decision a year ago to get healthy. I am fairly young and have been taking medications for my cholesterol, depression and stomach problems for quite sometime. I was referred to my new holistic doctor by a co-worker and she's been a life saver! I lost 35lbs on my own but after a year of running and semi-dieting, I needed a re-kick-start. I'm now ending my 5th day and have lost almost 5 lbs. :party1:

I did a goodle search on how the actress from King of Queens, Leah Remmi o Remmini or whatever...lost all her baby weight. She has a personal blog where she said she tried everything from Jenny Craig to WW...everything and 1pd worked for her to lose all the weight and get herself back down to 115.

I signed up a week later after trolling around making sure it wasnt a scam. Im not very overweight, and I"ve already lost 3lbs in 6 days not bad. Never been able to do that before! I'm thrilled!

I heard about 1pd from my nephew whose friend Allison lost 125 lbs in 6-1/2 months. He sent me her picture so I emailed Allison asking her about the diet and she emailed me several times giving me the inspiration to join. I lost 25 lbs in the first 3 weeks. I ended up losing 37 pounds but I didn't follow through to the refeed portion of the program. While on the program, I was able to discontinue my medications and my body stopped aching and I had so much energy and I loved the food. Got down to a size 12 and thought I had figured it out but obviously I still have a lot to learn. Had trouble reinspiring myself to rejoin but this is one diet I know works for me so here I am again after having regained the weight I originally lost, I just rejoined the program and look forward to becoming my own success story. Hearing other people's stories and recipes are important to the process. Just finishing up my first week back on the diet and already feeling better!Looking forward to the monthly weigh in!

I too found out through my co-worker, well i should say my old boss/great friend at work (she changed jurisdictions). I hadn't seen her in a little over a year and I didn't know she was doing a diet. I saw her and I was in shock!! She told me all about this diet and she lost 170 pounds in a year and she had tried everything in her will power before including the Lap Band. Nothing had worked for her til she did this diet. I decided to try it. After all what did i have to lose except 67 pounds, LOL. I had tried various diets which include Atkins and Lindora (which costed me an arm and a leg for the program and the food) and got no where. Well I am 2 1/2 weeks in and I have lost 11 lbs. I am still shocked that i lost this much weight in a short period of time. Hopefully I will be down another 56 pounds by August:) I just hope I won't be flabby because of the lack of exercise. Does anyone know if that happens? Thanks so much for your time and I wish you all much success on your diet and your future:)

MRose,
The first time I tried 1PD, I lost 25 pounds in my first 3 weeks. After that, the weight loss slowed down but my body began to change and tone itself. I couldn't believe how my belly fat just seemed to go away. No saggy skin, just redefined shape. This was all without exercise. I'm a firm believer that this is the diet for me as it is the one I have had success with. As I dropped in size, I became more confident in myself and started to allow myself little indulgences which turned into more frequent indulgences, of course not without a price. What I found was that the refeed portion of this diet is most important to the success of the diet. This time, I am taking it one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time. You can do this and you'll see amazing results, fast if you stay on program and don't deviate!

I heard about this program through a co-worker; I went a couple of months without seeing her, and when we ran into each other at a training class I was amazed. Well, everyone was amazed. She had tried other programs and even attempted a rigorous gym program and nothing had worked for her. I googled and did some research after speaking with her and shortly after decided to try it out for myself. And seven weeks into the program here I am. I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks, but I am feeling better everyday and I am looking forward to my new wardrobe.

I heard about this plan from a college friend who went from a size 18-20 to a 2 in just a few short months. From there, I learned that one of our mutual friends was in the middle of the program...both have nothing but positive things to say about their experiences.

wow. this is amazing. all these different stories--all with the same beautiful intention of health and happiness :)

my mom actually found this diet two years ago while hunting for a way to lose weight before a breast reduction surgery. she was post menopausal, overweight, and exhausted and she just happened to find the diet ad in some magazine. she'd been looking and hoping for a hgh diet to appear and voila! she went on the diet, lost a ton of weight, and had the surgery.

my story kinda starts here.
she had the surgery with a few complications, one of which was breast cancer. the doc (god bless his soul) discovered it during the procedure and the next 6months to a year were all about helping, healing, and tending to my mom. moved home, went though a terrible and fattening break up, and i lost sight of my life and pretty much poured myself into her. she's been in remission for almost a year now... and... throughout this process, i've put on a ton of weight.
let myself go and sort of mal-adapted to merely existing instead of...really having the life i want.
so here i am. day five. and very very very thankful.

Mallory, I completely understand the pressures of dealing with aging parents...and how weight gain often goes hand-in-hand with it. In 2007, I lost about 40 pounds on Weight Watchers. On Thanksgiving that same year, my mom went into the hospital where she passed away a few weeks later...just a couple of days before Christmas. Needless to say, it was a very stressful time. Most days were spent at my mom's side and making sure my dad was OK...eating healthy was NOT an option. Our small town is filled with fast food joints, Chinese take-out, and pizza places...they became my source for "nutrition" (and comfort) for about 3 weeks or so. After her funeral I vowed to get back on track, but two and a half months after her death, my dad suffered a stroke and ever since has suffered NUMEROUS health issues, including prostate cancer. So, over the course of the next two years, I think I ate to fill the void left by my mom (and I ate, probably, because I don't think I ever really got a good chance to mourn her...it was just on to the next health crisis!), and I ate when I was feeling stressed (which seems like all the time). Night time snacking, fast food, and chocolate became my best friends. And while I did get by with the help of those best friends, they really weren't doing me any favors. My dad is now 75 and he still has health issues that require my help, but I'm happy to say that I've learned I don't need to cram a Whopper in my mouth when things get to be too much. I feel in a much healthier place today...even healthier than before my mom fell ill.

I hope your mom is doing fine. It's wonderful that you've been able to be with her to help her through this ordeal. But now it's time to tend to YOU...you can do this!

My doctor told me about it, rather suggested it. He got the information about it from one of his other clients and did the program himself to verify and for other medical doctor stuff. I'm on day four of week three and can't wait for next friday so I can weight myself (again).

I found out about the diet from a very good friend. I remember we had dinner at home and she wasn't eating anything but instead just drank sprite zero and took out her crackers, that was in January when she was just starting. And we were amazed as we saw her month after month, she had lost close to 50lbs when we decided to research and learn about the program.
And after getting all the information here I am, on my 5th week and so far have lost 15 lbs last time I checked. And I have tried so many diets in the past, but this is the only one that have left me feeling very happy, not that irritated and not crave for anything.

Several friends that I sing with on my church's praise team did the diet. After seeing the results I was sold, just had to wait till I was working, got laid off and was out of work and back in school for 1.5 years. Soon as I could afford it, Cohen got 250 of my hard earned and I got started =D

Was just amazed by the consistent results that so many people I knew personally had gotten from this diet. Was all the convincing I needed.

My old boss did the diet and she has several old coworkers who were extremely successful. I think seeing her results and understanding exactly how the diet worked really convinced me to sign up. Fortunately, I found the online program which is much cheaper than other options out there. Since I travel a lot for work but am originally from Canada, I signed up online but my old boss had to sign up at a clinic and she had to pay almost triple the price for 6 months!!! I was just blown away.
