Hi Montezuma!
Don't worry about it! Plateaus are different for each person. You might be compacting! Check your measurements you might be losing inches but not pounds.

I went back to look for a posting I did to a friend who was in the same situation. Actually, the posting is not mine, it's from the Australian forum and it is from a "Male" moderator, here it is:

"The body is cyclic in nature as all women know. (men know it as well, cause we have to deal with the women! )

Anyway, yes, your body doesn't usually lose weight and inches/cm' at the same time. As you are taking in only enough food to sustain without going into starvation mode, your body burns fat for a while and then has to pull back for a while to re-organize that which is left. Shrinking of skin and so forth. This is why Dr. C only recommends weighing once a month while on the plan. He knows people tend to get upset when they see weight dropping off of them almost while they are watching and then virtually come to a standstill sometime for a day or week or even two weeks (several here have had some very, very long plateaus but they stuck 'em out and eventually passed that hurdle. Others try to do other things to speed it up and often get themselves into trouble as you can only do so much without upsetting the finely tuned state Dr. C has gotten you into. This is why no deviation is so, so important. Exercising more than necessary is a deviation if you haven't been exercising. Anything to cause you to burn more calories than you are currently getting will put you into starvation mode. When that happens, you will slow down or even completely stop your weight loss as the body will store any & everything thing you eat as fat.

Also, depending on the fat distribution you will sometimes notice rapid loss in certain areas of the body before other. In my case I lost my waistline rapidly but my hips and butt were slow. Most of the lowerend of my body went in the last 5-7kg. It's best not to worry about your actual weight but what you are striving for is a size that is right for your body. Remember, muscle is heavier than fat so you can be a size 8 and weigh 57kg or 62 kg if the 62 is made up of toned muscle. Just believe in Dr. C and you will lose all that you need to lose in the best time (you may lose faster possibly but at the expense of your health). This gets you back to a healthy state as fast as possibly".

I hope it helps you.

Your welcome! And Yes!! Try to weigh in once a week for a couple of weeks and then do it monthly. The monthly rewards are the best!! Leave the daily ones once you are in Maintenance.

Keep going Montie. New year, renewed spirit, new body, new eating habits and new mentality!

I was stuck for a week & had to add exercise to get things going. Just start with walking daily for 30 min and you should kick start your body again. Plus, it's good for you :party1:

With this diet I have found that the weight comes off in stages. Some weeks I will lose steadily, a pound every couple days, and other weeks I will lose nothing, but then the next week I wake up one day to a 4 pound loss.

This past month, I lost nothing for a week, 2 pounds the next, and then the week after I lost 7 pounds....:eyebrow:

At the end of the month, I just hope it adds up to at least 10 pounds and I am happy.

Thamks guys!!! I was really starting to stress out about it! I have never had any success dieting in the past and I think this program has been SO SUCCESSFUL for me that I was very threatened when the scale stopped moving. I signed up for another 3 months tonight as I am still quite a way from my goal, but I'm certainly willing to wait as long as it takes!! And thank God for my friend that told me about this program!! I don't ever want to be where I was ever again!! :)

Hi M

I also want to add that I was where you were about 2 weeks ago - stuck in a rut :)

But then a week later I dropped 1.6kg. So keep going and you will see even thou the one week everything stays the same you will see that there is a diffrence the next.

Keep your eye on the price! A new and improved you!!!!!

Those plateaus can be such a drag, and to be completely honest I was so disheartened when my scale started doing the same thing. I just kept reminding myself that it took a lot longer than the time I have been on the program to put the weight on. In the past this has also been my biggest obstacle, I think I am doing soo well and then I stop losing and I figure what the heck and pick up on my bad habits again. I only recently joined the chat portion of the program, but I think that you might find that we all go through the same obstacles and as long as you are willing to let us; everyone here can provide the support you need to continue. I know that sounds a little cheesy, but this is one of the greatest groups of people around and each and everyone of them is rooting for you to get to your goal. You are going to do great, just keep yourself focused on the new healthier you. Congratulations on your renewal!

OK I got through that platuea and hit another...... but I lost in between. So I was plugging along as I am not going to screw this up and today tried on a pair of jeans that had been just alittle to tight to wear........Lo and behold they are loose!! How cool is that!! So I have come to the decision that I will start weighting monthly like I am supposed to!! That is big for me as I am very impatient and want to know everything yesterday!! :) Again, thanks for all the support!! Montie
