Okay - so I have to brag a bit 'cause I was pretty amazing today. I had to go to "happy hour" :party4:for a friend's birthday party and sat and sipped my diet coke, then coffee (I got cold) while they had cocktails:party7:, wine, & hors d'oevers :hungry:(very yummy naughty hors d'oevers). It was probably the hardest time I had at not having anything, but the best thing is I wasn't even tempted to cheat. I don't want to mess up any progress I've made and can't wait to get to the end of this journey. Just wanted to share in case anyone else feels they can't survive an experience like that. You CAN and you WILL!!!{boing}

{hi} there Bronwyn
WELL DONE!!! :applause: I'm very proud of you!!!
The reason you are feeling like you have more self-control is because your hormones are in a balance. This means that you have more serotonin, which controls the craving for food, especially starches, there to help you!
What a feeling!!! You've had a party with NO REGRETS and I'm very proud of you!!! :jumping2:
WELL DONE!!! :bighug:

..and stubborn enough turning all offers and persuations down..

Hi ladies! This is my first post, but I just wanted to say thanks for all the positive thoughts and messages!
Bronwyn, it was great to read about your will power!
I am a student living in dorms at college, and I am constantly surrounded by vending machines and all-you-can-eat buffets that are part of the meal plan my parents are required to pay for. Let me tell ya, it's not easy to turn down mountains of food day in and day out, but I'm doing it, and everyone else out there can too!! My will power has grown so much over the past 5 weeks-I had a dream that I cheated (my room mate had brownies just waiting to be eaten) and I woke up crying! haha!
I love reading about everyone's progress, so keep up the great work!

Welcome Daddieslittlegurl! Sounds like you're doing great! I'm at the end of 5 weeks also. We went to a birtday party tonight, and they had the most amazing food... I managed to resist. But the smell made me soooo hungry! And the CAKE!!! But, cheating isn't worth the setback, and we will have all those goodies again some day (in moderation, and tiny tiny pieces...but still)! So hang in there and think about how great you'll look and feel when this is all through!:party1:

Hi Iisrias!!! And Welcome Daddieslittlegurl!! Good job ladies! And keep it up. I can't believe you are having to maintain your willpower and complete this program while you're in a dorm in college!!! That is amazing in itself. Good for you. And Iisrias - good job not cheating at the party. I was at one yesterday too and had to pass on the pizza and ice cream cake. Before long we will be the envy of everyone with our fabulous figures. It is true, the longer you're on this diet the more you want to be done and you see it working so well that you don't want to cheat. Daddiesgurl, we had posted on some other thread about the cheating dreams - we all are having them. This diet works so well it works in your subconscious too!! Please keep us posted of your progress.

:bighug: & Warm Welcome to Daddieslittlegurl!! WELL DONE!!! on the lifestyle change... I think you have it really tough, so here are some thoughts that I hope will help you:
:thinking: Girls, food is only food and it is always going to be there...
Cake is only cake, you can enjoy it for 5 minutes on the lips and wear it on your hips for the next 5 years! if you let yourself have it now...
Think of the raw ingredients, egg, flour, oil, water, cocoa... none of that is impressive... none of these are really a big deal and none of them is worth breaking your diet for!!!
So, don't go ooooh the cake which can be enjoyed for 5 minutes, rather go OOOOOOH MY NEW DENIM!!! which you can enjoy ALL DAY LONG...
{cheerleader} HAPPY SLIMMING!!! {cheerleader}

But is was ICE CREAM CAKE!!! The best kind in the world!!
Just kidding... sort of... You are so right about the 5 minutes of it tasting good vs. the aggravation of gaining the weight and having to take it off.

Funny you are talking about cake and dreams... Last night I dreamed I was eating Cheesecake and my son made me spit it out and told me I was a bad little mommy.....It's nice to know that I have my families support even in my dreams.
Girls-Keep up that willpower. I would never have made it through college on this diet... too much beer and pizza (oh yeah..that is how I got these thighs).......Go Girl Go!

Okay - So I'm back from my two days in Vegas and am proud to say that I did it!!! I did have minor deviations in the food in that I asked for steamed asparagus and they served it with a bit of olive oil and I used salad dressing on one of my salads which I'm sure wasn't Cohen-approved (a lime-jalapeno vinagrette) BUT I didn't have one single tiny sip or shot of any alcohol at all. And I'm telling you - I was there with some partiers!! They had every kind of martini, mojito, etc. floating around in front of me, but I stuck to my guns and didn't splurge. It just wasn't worth it! I even went out dancing until 12:30am and had FUN!! This was a great lesson for me that I do not have to drink to have a good time.
The other best part is my friends/co-workers. Before the trip they kept telling me that they were going to be bad influences and that they were going to "make" me drink and party with them. Well, once we were there they didn't bother me at all and I even overheard them telling people how proud they are of me and that I cannot drink because I'm doing so well on my diet and I can't ruin it. It was so nice to have their support and encouragement.
Okay, one more other best part. I bought a pair of Skinny Jeans - size 5!! I wore them out and LOVED IT!!!! I wouldn't have been caught dead in anything close to this type of clothing in the last 15 years (probably not even before that since I always felt fat - even when I was thin). I looked great and felt even better. All night people kept telling me how great I looked and how beautiful I am.
Overall, another very successful out-of-town experience for me. Now, I'm looking forward to no travel for a while so I can stay focused 100%!
Had to share. I think that if I can do this in Sin City it can be done anywhere!

Thank you Mrs. Peel. Yes, I'm certainly not an alcoholic, but I do love to party once in a while and I really wasn't looking forward to this trip. Now, I'm so glad I went and I feel stronger than ever about being able to finish this diet and then stay on track after refeed.
