I am home sick with viral bronchitis. I feel awful and it hasn't been easy but I've been sticking to the diet. The hardest part is eating at my scheduled intervals. My throat hurts so much I don't want to swallow to often and I'm so sick I have no desire to eat or drink. I've been keeping up with the diet plan (although I have cut back on the 64 oz of water these past two days - it's just to painful!) but some tea would be great! Can I have peppermint tea? The ingridients are just 100% natural peppermint leaves, crushed. My diet says no fruity flavored drinks but I wasn't sure if this was in that category. I'm in my 6th week, I look and feel great (except for the illness) and I don't want to blow it by a silly mistake. Is 100% natural peppermint tea ok?

Hi, flwrgrlie! So sorry to hear you've got cooties :(

I wrote to my consultants at the beginning of my diet to ask about Earl Grey tea, and in their reply they said mint tea was fine - it's herbal. (Earl Grey was fine, too - I guess they don't consider the bergamot a "fruit" flavoring)

{hi} there :flower:Grlie

:bighug:

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling ill and I wish you a very speedy recovery.

You are allowed to have to have mint tea or chamomile tea, all herb teas are fine, but fruit tea's such as lemon, peach etc are not allowed.

I recommend that you make chicken soup (nice and filling) by microwaving your cut chicken with a bit of onion, celery, cauliflower, baby marrow, some spinach and some salt and herbs in a cup of water. Once the chicken is cooked (about 6 minutes) put the above into a blender. You may add a cracker or two to thicken while blending. ENJOY! You may even add some plain bran / husks to this as they will help to keep you feeling full and regular at the same time.

You may take any medication as prescribed by your personal doctor, but we ask that you please ask for sugar free, alcohol free medication.

Hoping you feel much better soon!!! :comfort:
