where have my proportions gone?
short time passing,
where have my proportions gone,
far far away...
where have my propotions gone,
they have never been so lame,
when will they come back home?
when will they come back home?
please, i need comfort again :comfort:--
or advice... whatever..tell me anything- :hiding:
my bossom is as small as it was when i weighed about 62 kg which equals about 137,5 lbs.
but now i'm estimated 80 kg (176 lbs) and there's not really much left..
remember, i'm 5'10, so this really loox pathetic, i think-
and others have noticed it, 2.
all the hundreds of diets i was on in my previous and present lives (at least thaz how long it feels) i never xperienced that kind of "shrinking" in the "wrong" areas.
and the skin is all wrinkled and loose and ----uaaaahh, i freak out!! {scream}
it seems i dont know my body anymore - and it wasnt all that bad- b4 my recent pregnancy!!!!!
shall i quit and do refeed and start another round later?
gail, moderators, afterlifer or anyone who is done with the program - what was your xperience?
will they ever come back?...
..mayb with the first milk i'll have?... haha..if i only found this funny *sigh*
or shall i start xercising my tummy and lex- 2 make THEM shrink?
(then i ask myself: with what kind of fuel shall i accomplish this?)
mayb this diet is making me loose weight 2 quickly and my body is also confused as i started the program 2 weex after ablactation - which btw i did 15 years ago as well with next 2 no effect on my chest!!
mother, mother- whaz going on, whaz going on.......?!?
i seem 2 b the troublemaker here- sorry bout that.... buhuhu!!

Sorry to say I don't have your problem. I want to loss weight in my double D's. How about treating yourself to a sexy new push up bra? You deserve one. Nothing makes you feel more special than new underwear.

{hi} there Cyberella
I'm sorry to hear that you feel you are loosing in all the wrong places!!! and that your bosom seems to have gone  missing in all the diet action :comfort:
Where each person looses weight from first will depend on your genetics'., age etc. Some people loose legs first, others tummy or butt. It's not nice that your bust seems to have been the first to go!
Skin can take a bit of time to shrink so let's wait and see what happens. If all else fails, you could speak to your doctor and ask for a bit of help. I spoke to a friend the other day, she's in her 60's and has had breast cancer. She had reconstructive surgery and says that she's NEVER had better breasts in all her life!!
So, again, let's wait and see what happens, give your body a bit of time to adjust - by this I mean a couple of months after the Refeeding. Following that you can decide what you want to do if you are not happy with the outcome. :comfort:

hi, shasha!
thanx 4 your answer-
i did some research myself in the internet and found out that once the milk-gland-tissue decrease when weaning a baby, the fatty tissue comes back slowly- well, right now-
where 2 get it??
never thought that i'd come 2 a stage where i actually wanna have fat... :party1:

Cyberella, look on your body while you diet as a work in progress! Remember, as you lose sizes and as all of the fat and toxins disappear from your body IT WILL CHANGE SHAPE!
In my experience, I did (do) have some skin which is not as taut as I'd like it to be. My doctor tells me that the skin is an organ, and as such it does FINALLY figure out that it might be a bit too big for the body on which it's sitting. I was told that it would take a year or two for the skin to "fit" my body again.
Not to worry! There are tons of ways that you can make your body look great wearing anything -- you just have to realize that you're in the MIDDLE of a process. Do not try, at this point, to do anything other than follow your eating plan 100%.
When I started re-feeding, I weighed 145 pounds and was an American size 10. When I finished re-feeding, I weighed 145 pounds and was an American size 6. I didn't lose any weight at all, but I lost enough fat/inches from my body to drop two more sizes while on re-feeding.
Since completing re-feeding, my body continues to re-arrange itself.
You said "never thought that i'd come 2 a stage where i actually wanna have fat... " You do NOT want to have fat. You want to have healthy and FIT!!!
You will be fit. Just let yourself win on this!
Best,
Gail

Hi ladies,
Cyberella - Also consider using body lotions that assist with "skin firming" etc. that are on the market now. They are not miracle workers, but may help a bit. I'm sorry to say that I wish I had your problem. I was a ballerina for years and HATE my boobs... To me the perfect look is flat. Of course, my husband would probably disagree...

Cyberella, if I could send you some of my boobage, I would!! :wacky: I am still not losing anything from that area - very strange for a girl who was called "Pirate's Delight" in high school (sunken chest)!
Before I started the plan, I was getting regular endermologie treatments to help with my circulatory and lymph systems. The bonus was that i was losing inches even before the diet - now that I am losing fat as well, the treatments keep my skin firm and healthy! You might check it out - I know you have it over there because it started in France and is more popular in Europe than the US.
And by the way, your photo is indeed beautiful! :flower:

Hi there -- Another thought on "saggy and baggy" post diet skin...is "endermologie treatment" the same as a "European body wrap"? I've heard of these (where you are literally wrapped with ace-type bandages soaked in a mineral solution which apparently tightens skin and helps with detoxing the skin)...I don't know what the process is actually called, but it could also be an option for someone after refeeding is done. Just a thought (as the sun begins to shine and thoughts of (gasp) bathing suits return!) Gail

hey, mrs. peel!
thanx 4 your nice compliment!! well, besides washing my hair and putting some make-up on i didnt contribute much 2 whaz on the picture-
i have 2 thank god and my parenz.. :innocent3:
tell me, mrs.peel, what is that treatment of yours called?!
if iz what gail assumes, i think i did that b4 - i was the only one running up and down the place like a wild horse, as my system couldnt take the wraps- my heart started freaking out..
but i guess there r different essences they put on u with those wraps: mine contained pepper and coffein- no wonder i got short of breath, i think. {deadhorse}
but those wraps r not done on the chest- they wrap u only underneath your bossom down 2 feet and on the arms.
hi, gail!
see, what bothers me so much is that i had this weight i have rite now 4 the last 5 years and i cant seem 2 get used 2 the idea of having my belly sticking out (thaz still from pregnancy and my age *gulp*- not the program- i know that), and my chest shrinking way more than it ever has in my entire diet-life...
so, i starve myself here and look worse than i ever have b4- thaz what makes me so unhappy..
(having started the diet 2 soon)
do u know if there is a cohen-slo-mo-mode?
where one can b on the program but loses weight more slowly and moderately?
the last option would b 2 do refeed sooner, start eating normally again and gaining weight on my bossom, then coming back on the program 4 the "final" round...
not great, but a possibility...
and ladies, once again:
THANX AGAIN 4 COMFORT, IDEAS AND SUPPORT!!!!!
I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!

Hey, Gail and cyberella!
No, endermologie isn't a wrapping process, it's a deep tissue massage that is performed with a machine that uses rollers and gentle suction to knead the skin and smooth out hard lumps and compacted tissue (which causes cellulite). I call it my vacuuming session :flirt:
You wear a suit, like a leotard, and lay on a table and the endermologist does all the work. It's very relaxing, and it helped me a lot with the water retention and tight tissue I had at my heaviest weight. It continues to help with firming up loose belly skin after my loss so far!

hi, mrs.peel!
thanx a lot 4 the info! :flower:
just found it in the internet! loox cool, this starship enterprise-outfit...
the year b4 falling pregnant i wanted 2 lose some weight and decided 2 take those blue pills called xenical- i dont know if u got those in the us or if they might b called differently- they reduce the fat-intake by smuggling eaten fat past the digestion.. what i gained from that is lumps in the tissue- limpomas (fatty tumors)- never had that b4 (and it obviously reduced my wish 2 experiment any further with my body!)- :noway:
those r less now, but i have them additional 2 the cellu-dinz! :quiet:
so, i'd love 2 do this vacuum cleaning, 2!! it sounz great- like something that could really help rite now..

That treatment sounds wonderful Mrs. Peel. I should like to try that sometime too.
Hang in there Cyberella. As the other gals have said, this is a long journey and your body is going to go through ups and downs before settling on it's new slim self. I am noticing that I'm starting to notice the fat more now that I've lost so much - it is standing out more to me if that makes sense? The more I lose, the more I see it on my body. I guess when there was more of it I just got used to that look. Now that I can kind of see the slimmer me in there, this extra fat is really getting to me. I must be patient and wait til the end.
Another issue I'm kind of scared of, is that I hope I like m body when I'm done. I was pretty tiny growing up from dancing, yet I always thought I was fat. When I weighed 100 pounds I thought I had a stomach pooch and a big butt. I think that's why as I gained all the weight over the years, I didn't really notice - because to me I had a distored view of myself. Only time will tell, but I just realized that the other day. I think it's something I'm going to have to watch.

hey, bronwyn!
what u just wrote reminded me of michelangelo's david- remember, he said that the sculpture of "david" was always in the rock- he just helped him 2 get out!!! isnt that sweet..
just like cohen- he is our michelangelo and we r the artworx!!!!:innocent3:
thanx bron 4 cheering (4) me/ up, "my prob" is that my body was like it is rite now 4 many years 1,80m by 78 kg (i had a quite normal weight all those years b4 falling pregnant)- and i can recall that this is not quite what i looked like in my entire life- thaz all i'm frustrated about- i didnt starve myself and looked muuuch better -
but i'm not at my goal yet, so mayb i can b a bit more patient - dont freak out and start refeed sooner (2 have some time 4 my boobs 2 recover and add another round later...)
dunno yet - i'll see what changes the next days will bring. dont wanna spoil the only body-part i always was content with, also!!! :flirt:
what u say about seeing the fat now i understand totally: my upper belly is getting smaller, what makx my lower belly stick out way more- the proportions change in the process (on my belly i xperienced that often b4- and on the hips, 2- lose waiste and the hips seem bigger aso).
oh, and guess what : 1 session of endemology treatment cost as much as 75 euro, thaz about 100$ -
is that again "austria" or do u pay that much, 2, mrs.peel?
MrsPeel
03-04-2008, 08:26 PM
Hey, cyberella!
Yes, it costs about the same in the US - I think my sessions are $90 per hour, which is very good. In other large cities (like New York), the spa's charge $120 or more. I get packages of 8 or 16 treatments, and have a payment plan. It's not inexpensive, but I was at a point where my career was in danger because of my weight gain and excessive edema (swelling) in my ankles and lower legs. I am standing for 13-16 hours a day when I work, and can't afford to have those issues. So I bit the bullet and signed up for VACUUMING! And I am so glad I did - especially now when I am losing so much weight and yet my skin is tightening up nicely.
Bronwyn, you're near L.A., right? There will be lots of places that offer endermologie treatments near you, I'm sure. And I hope you'll be part of the West coast contingent to gather & party when cyberella comes to visit!! :party5:

Hi Mrs. Peel,
Yes - I am in LA and would DEFINITELY be a part of any gathering involving you and Cyberella. Too fun!!! I have a question for you. I want to try the Ry-Vita crackers you had mentioned in earlier posts. When I went to Whole Foods they had several different kinds. What type, specifically, are approved for us?
Hi Cyberella,
I LOVE the Michelangelo reference and I bet Dr. Cohen would to. We are his lovely sculptures. Your body will end up gorgeous - I'm know it. I'm sorry to hear you're finding that you're not as happy with your bustline (or as my 2 year old calls them "oobies..." But I'll bet they will even out with the rest of your figure and will come back to you after the refeed. I don't think you should go off the diet now and come back later, but I don't know all your personal details so if the consultants think that's a good idea for you, I sure would understand. I will say it seems so unfair that our reward for feeding our children the best nutrition in the world during thier most formative years makes us sag and sad... As you would say buhuhuhu...
Hang in there and thanks for listening to my whining earlier too!

Hi, Bronwyn! I wasn't sure, either, about which Ry-Vitas were best, so I got both the Light Rye and the Dark Rye crackers. They are fine, but we switched to the Ry-Krisp Naturals shortly after, as they are much more tasty! You can get those at Ralph's.
I'm in Eagle Rock . . .

wonderful mrs.peel, i'm sooo grateful 4 the hint about endermology!! (finally a quite easy solution where i thought there's none)
i bet u r happy 2 have signed up there!
i was in the internet the whole morning 2 check on treatmenz, effecz, costs and machines..
the professional ones cost as much as €25.000,- but then again, if everyone pays €75,- per session, u get it back in a reasonable timeframe..
there r also smaller ones 4 home, 4 'only' € 1350,- but those u have 2 use 5 times a week for 7,5 minutes (haha- esp. the half minute is important) 2 maintain the effect.
oh, mrs.peel! i'd sooo love 2 go shopping at ralph's-
there's one just around the corner of my sisters place!!
buhuhu- rite, bronwyn?-- see, u know me by now!! :party6::rolling2:
iz gonna b so very nice 2 meet with u in the 'real' world! :flirt:
and yes, i might really "hang in there"- just like my 2 frienz...
thanx 4 comforting me- thaz just what i needed 2 hear- they'll come back once they can finally find any sort of FAT in the food...
i must have missed the part where u were whining...
well, actually i thought i'm a good listener- in our case a good 'reader', but then again- as i turn in2 a bat, i might have overlooked it?!
i am the one whining about like a little crybaby..
sorry, bout that-
i'll get my act 2gether again.. :weights:

Hi ya diet darlings..:love7:
Enjoying this post very much, makes me smile.
Dearest Cyberella - you are one gorgeous gal! With your height and those looks.... wow a real knockout combination (especially when you get to your goal!)
Mrs Peel - thanks for the info on the "skin vacuuming" - I'll be looking into it too. Hopefully there's something near me... sounds ideal.
I was nodding my head alot whilst reading this post with the bits and pieces shrinking and sagging more. Just yesterday I was thinking that a certain parts of my anatomy were looking more like two pendulums that belong on a grandmother clock!! I was even looking at whats involved in a breast lift once I'm a graduate! Either that or I'll do more head stands and hope they balance out {rofl}
And Bronwyn - I'm with you on the part where you wrote about the more fat you're losing the more you see. For me I think because it's the first time in so many years I'm actually focusing on my body - I'm seeing it for the first time - does that make sense? For so long I've not liked my size so I avoided looking at it in the mirror. But now I'm seeing the changes almost daily and so the mirror is getting a look in (pardon the pun) and so I'm noticing lots of things. It's all good!!
I just can't wait for the end result and by most of the photos that are out there of Cohen grads, I think they all look exceptionally toned and firmed up. Maybe because it is such a rapid weight loss it does take time for the body to readjust. Like Gail wrote in one of her posts, during refeed her weight didn't change but her size did.
Can I share a warm fuzzy with you all (that's a good feeling vibe). Yesterday I went to my doctor for my 4 week blood test and her reaction to my weight loss was just such a tingling experience - I couldn't get the smile off of my face. :cloud9: My blood pressure is the best its ever been (family history of high blood pressure from both parents), clearer complexion and she called me skinny!! hee hee, it was just what the doctor ordered (again pardon the pun) for the boost in motivation that I needed. I was having a frustrating day previously and my normal 'fixes' are banned - ie a glass of red, :party7: a piece of chocolate... you know it!
What do you all do when frustrations hit - any alternatives you can suggest? I'm predominantly an emotional eater.... like I read once, you substitute one habit with another. Kick boxing would be good right? But then physical exersion = hunger doesn't it...hmmmm

{hi} there Everyone
{grouphug1}
Nice to see you all chatting about diet goodies that can help... I LOVED the Michaelangelo bit {goodjob} Cyberella you need to hang in there and finish this... no point in stopping before the finish line. It will only be that much more harder to start again... besides, right here and right now you have the support of fantastic diet buddies!!!
Bronwyn, I agree 100%, the big on body image is so very, very important and you need to make sure that you invest time and energy and if needs be money to help you to have a correct body image. This does not mean you will look like something from a magazine - all paint brushed and perfect... but, you can become the best you that you can be! :bighug: even if that means some of Mrs Peel's vacuuming medicine to help a bit along the way!!! LOL

Hi There!
Mrs. Peel - Thank you SO MUCH for the cracker info. I so loved having an alternate to the saltines, but realized that I bought the wrong type of RyVita - of course with the most carbs - DUH!! {duh} I stopped eating them right away and will look for the Ry Crisps at Ralphs.
Cyberella - It must be so hard to be so far away from your little sister. Think how amazed she'll be to see you when you finally are able to visit as there will be so much less of you to see! My little sister went to college in the midwest so only saw each other a couple of times a year & I thought that was hard. Now she lives 10 minutes away from me and I LOVE it! And yes - please listen to Shasha and stick with this program. Your body will even out and you'll get your "oobies" back I'm sure.
Megsy - WOW!! What a wonderful perk for you to get such a lovely reaction from your doctor! That must've been extremely motivating!!! You go girl!!! :party8: Sorry to hear you had a rough day and had to go without your usual comforts of wine or chocolate or both. Definitely you should think about taking up some type of activity. I think I've done so well so far because I'm keeping so busy. I work full time, have a 2 year old boy (an yes a husband who is very helpful, but sometimes feel I have 2 boys... wink, wink) and now I'm cooking all these meals and planning and maintaining our household chores. I don't have much time to miss my comfort foods. The hardest for me is at night after everyone's in bed and I usually would like my glass of wine then to unwind. For now, I just try to put it out of my mind. If I can't get wine/food cravings out of my head I chew gum and that seems to do the trick for me.
Shasha - We always love your input and your approval. Thanks for understanding us and "listening" to us and for always lending your support. My sister was laughing at me that I'm not happy with my body yet. She pointed out that a few months ago I would've been thrilled to look this small and she's right. I know I must be patient and I'm sure in the end I'll feel like a supermodel. I also know that in real life, even super models have cellulite!!:flirt:
Okay - back to work now!
MrsPeel
03-05-2008, 06:47 PM
Bronwyn, make sure to get the Ry-Krisp "Naturals" - they are the tasty ones, and 1PD approved! (There are lots of other types, with sesame seeds, etc. - not approved)
Hurray for crackers!

hey, girls...
iz so nice 2 see our chit-chat moving along! and everyone of u is just such a precious darling!!! i'm really amazed-
in austria we say that the ones who tend 2 have some "xtra" r the most affable and pleasant people!!
i agree with all % i have...:innocent3:
megs, well, thank u sooo very much 4 those nice complimenz!!! :love5:
(again, i'm grateful 2 nature as i could really had it worse..)
but i can only pass it on 2 u!!!
so i understand that our up-north-situation (going down south) really has 2 do with pregnancy and breast-feeding.
i read on the internet that the change in the breasts have more 2 do with pregnancy than with nursing-
the tissue changes completely during the 9 month, so iz not a question of nursing-duration, as we could assume as u couldnt breast-feed 4 ages.
if u dont mind the size u mayb just have 2 do the peel-vaccuming and they might bcome firm again; i wouldnt go 4 drastic methoz as long as i havent tried everything noninvasive possible. (in case a breast-lift is what i think it is- mayb i got that wrong though-)
oh, and thanx 4 being so considerate and explaining "warm fuzzy" 2 -i think only-me....
very often i'm guessing or use my imagination what u girls mean (hope i'm not all that far out every now and then)
-diaper-change-break- back just nownow!:stinky:--
ya, bronwyn, iz really hard 2 miss my sister and niece so very long years, esp. as she wont b coming back most likely-
she was always my closest person in the world!!
and i miss her even more as i'm a person always misinterpreted and misunderstood by even my own family--
she was the only one knowing what i was all about-
(they thought i had the touret-syndrome till they found out that i was an indian xchange-student-- thaz a joke i can relate 2 very very much!!!)
now THAZ a HUUUUGE "BUHUHUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"!!!!!
cyberella
03-06-2008, 07:13 PM
hey, megsy, does that sound familiar?:
>What do you all do when frustrations hit - any alternatives you can suggest? I'm predominantly an emotional eater.... like I read once, you substitute one habit with another. Kick boxing would be good right? But then physical exersion = hunger doesn't it...hmmmm<
i think kick-boxing is a good choice once off refeeding!! 4 now u have 2 save your breath- (4 me iz completely out of the question 2 do anything more than breathing and walking-
i even get dizzy from standing up from a chair...no, not ON a chair, FROM is just about enough)
i actually thought of kick-boxing as a perfect valve 2 not get or stay fat!! something i have on my "2 do"-list 4 quite a while now!
but what we need 2 substitute the emotional constituent of our eating habiz with is something more rapid, what is giving us comfort and makx us happy quickly- quicker than we can put choc in our mouth!
unless u have a basement where u have enough space 4 all the kick-box-equipment i think we have 2 think of some other options...hmm..
i do the same thinking 4 a while now, and all i came up with so far is: when -after the refeed- i'm tempted 2 have chocolate or anything just 4 emotional reasons i'll dash 2 the mirror and look at my shape 2 ask myself if iz worth jeopardizing this..
during the program i sit myself 2 the computer and spend time with my buddies and get or share some emotional support here!
how bout starting 2 draw or painting with acryl-colours on canvas? playing piano (even doing my exercises is great, as i only started now again after 30 years having a teacher coming 2 my home!!) or doing yoga-wrenches (esp. feeling the difference btween xercising while being overweight and with less weight) or going 2 swim, 4 a walk, taking a good book (in a nice bath mayb) or having a massage, facial .... u know a coupe of treaz, dont u!!!? and if u have 2 stay home attending 2 the baby and cant go out 2 the play ground... take at least a chewing gum... :)
rite now i read a book thaz written 4 all of us here and eversince i started i was thinking about my diet-girls and how i could possibly get it across 2 u all- i did some searching but iz not translated yet.
it has 2 do with getting lumber out of our system (like we do on the physical level, 2), learning 2 feel what brings/slows us down, what strengthens us and learning self-care-competence..
2 comfort ourselves, regain the ability 2 recognise our neez and body impulses, emotional selfmanagement aso.
i think those r all the things people with weight probs have unlearned/forgotten or r not that good with some of these ablilities...
it also gives advise 2 solve blockades in our mind and psyche with "energetic psychology"-
i can try 2 pass something on 2 u during the process of reading this cool book, but in the meanwhile i ask u 2 try and find a similar literature, if that appeals 2 u - i know that there's very much out there in the us!! :reading: very very good boox in all different fielz of self management and emotional work aso..
mayb there r some ideas 2 help "fight emotional neediness"!!! :elmer: my new goal, btw!!

{hi} there Everyone...
 Just a thought on this interesting subject...
When I'm feeling blue, what I try to do is think of all the many things that I have to be thankful for...
I actually make a list... then, by the time I'm halfway done (I never fully seem to get to the end of it) I end up feeling like the most blessed person alive...
It's amazing what such a list can do when you include the simple things that we normally take for granted, like just being able to see and hear and talk, like being able to feel... how wonderful to have a pc and Diet that works and Diet Buddies that can support you... not to mention friends and family... the home you live in, the work you do, the support you have... the clothes you wear the food you eat...
There are so many SUPER DOOPER THINGS in our lives! :jumping2: When we think about them, our hearts can just overflow with thankfulness. When that happens we tend to forget the little things that get us down.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made - the way your hand functions is fantastic!!! to say the least! (Makes me think I deserve to give myself a nice manicure and nail buffing this weekend!)
Then, there is the most beautiful world all around you, stare at a flower, just absorb it's beauty... breath in some lavender or a rose... soak up some sunshine... watch a butterfly or bird go by. Getting in touch with nature, on whatever level is always uplifting to me!
Life is incredible and we should not waist a minute on feeling down... let your heart fill with thankfulness and then rejoice at all your blessings.
OKAY, this is maybe not what Cyberella had in mind - I didn't have time to go read a book... but, just thinking about a few things that I'm grateful for makes my spirits lift and I end up feeling stronger and more positive and joy filled and maybe this can help someone somewhere out there... {boing}

he smiled at me: "there can never b 2 much of a handsome guy"-- :innocent4:
but i agree: i think i look way nicer if there's less of me-
actually iz like with everything in this world (which i dont always aprove of): the less there is of something (like a substance) the more appreciated or wanted it is- think of titanium versus plate or ie: whaz going on in the stock-market...
in our world it seems the same with women: the smaller they r the more they appear appreciated... or do i see this not rite?
my sis and i did some skyping lately (video-communication on the pc)and she asked where i was- she couldnt see me anymore--
{rofl} .. oh, that was due 2 my old camera;
no, but she really saw a difference!
not so my frienz whom i saw yesterday at a birthday party and the last time on day 2 of my program-
eventhough i've lost somewhat like 34 pounz inbtween our 2 get 2gethers, they didnt notice--
i wondered but didnt mind as they saw me waxing and waning throughout our friendship so often and always love me 4 who i am! :love5:
and they always think i look terrific.......

shasha :love7:, i agree with u a million % !!!! u r rite, u r rite u r rite!!! :love3:
but i wanted 2 pass on my ideas on what 2 swop emotional eating with-
trade one habit 4 another 1,
-- being aware, having reached buddhaship and being ALWAYS attentive 2 the gifz of life or: being humble and greatful or better: being SATISFIED and content is something on my: "how i wanna bcome in my life"-list, but not quite a permanent state i'm in or a "habit"/attitude that i (we?) might have reached yet--- otherwise we wouldnt b emotíonal eaters, rite?! cause that feels more like "i'm in need of something i dont FEEL i have rite now"
btw: being emotionally needy doesnt always contradict being greatful 4 what life has given 2 us- it feels like some kind of emptyness that can b there whilst one sees these wonderful thinx and ask himself y it isnt enough, what one has!!
but u r rite again: striving 2 see things this way and being aware of our bliss more will change us in the long run, so we might even get past the emotional :munchies:eating-behavior.
reminds me a little of the last saying in your "thought"-section (in terms of trying 2 b a certain way will let us develop in that direction)..
"In every person who comes near you look for what is good and strong; honor that; try to imitate it, and your faults will drop off like dead leaves when their time comes."

{hi} there Cyberella
I don't know if you know the saying: You can't judge a book by the cover?
The sad thing is that MOST PEOPLE will judge you by your cover - especially the ones who do not yet know you...
Of course there will be those who love and accept you for who you are - but that will not be the case with everyone...
Being healthy and well does say a whole lot about you and I agree with what you said 100% about: in our world it seems the same with women: the smaller they r the more they appear appreciated...
In your life, people will come and go but to me, the big thing must be: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT YOU??

shasha, i'm rite bhind u:
hi, mrs. peel!! :flower::clover::flower:
i checked again on the endermology 4 home and have some news that might interest u:
the "wellbox" is an original, yet smaller endermology-machine that only neez 2 b used once a week 2 maintain the resulz. in each body-area 7,5 minuz, though (one part is as much as a front thigh or one bum-cheek). so, u'd b busy 4 mayb as long as the treatment takx u now in the spa.
the box is a product of the founder's company, so iz not a plagiarism and worth iz money (bout $ 1800,- usd)..
the spa's were quite pissed off with their machine-provider as they developed "competition" due 2 the fact that they thought women shouldnt have 2 pay so much in those beauty-farms!
i think that was a nice and smart move-
and the shop i got my info from also stated that the use is more comfortable and the overall is not needed.
mayb u dont wanna know all this cause u like 2 have your treat once in a while and can cope with the costs with no problem at all-
i'm just greatful 4 your tip and wanted 2 pass on 2 u (and anyone who's interested) what i know now!!
i have my first professional vacuuming 2morrow afternoon-
cant wait! i'm looking 4ward sooo much!! :jumping2:
i go 4 one block of 11 sessions twice a week (4 the same resulz i have 2 use the wellbox 5 times a week- 2 much of a hassle) and 2 maintain the resulz with the wellbox!
thanx again!!
MrsPeel
03-10-2008, 12:44 PM
Oh, cyberella! I can't wait to hear how you like it! I asked my endermologist about the home box and she doesn't recommend it. Anyway, I'd never do it myself - it would gather dust in a corner - but going to my treatment place and laying on the table for an hour while someone else does the vacuuming - that's deluxe! :)
But for those who can't spend the money on a treatment, the box might be a good alternative.
cyberella
03-10-2008, 04:41 PM
sure, they wont recommend it!! if i had nice clienz like u, mrs. peel :flower::clover:, i wouldnt recommend it otherwise they'd b gone---
and thaz what i thought! u like the treat and i can just imagine!! :cloud9:
well, i take the first sessions and then i'll see.
as i stated in another threat, a finance-consultant lost almost all my savings (as he didnt do his job as promised), so 4 now i have 2 b careful with what and how much i spend money on...
i'll tell u 2morrow about my cellu-killing session!!!
jjjjjjjjjjiiiiiiiiiiiiiiihhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaa!!!! {deadhorse} -thaz me and my cellu!
(i always wanted 2 use this smiley and here its finally appropriate: thaz just about how useful cellulitis is!!).....

Good luck :clover: with the treatment Cyberella! I'm interested to hear how you like it and if it makes a difference for you. I've been so sad for you reading how you are so unhappy with your looks right now. You are beautiful inside and I'm sure outside too, but you have to feel it too. :flower: I know this "in between" stage is a difficult one, but I do believe if you hang in there you will be thrilled with the long term results. :bighug:

yeah, just got back from my vacuuming session-
well, it was cool, but i have 2 get used 2, i think...
as this treatment is tumbling the tissue iz not always comfortable, but the lady said, one gez used 2 it..
i didnt complain but could have asked her 2 make it softer, but then the resulz wont b as good!!
but i can imagine that this worx- and one even loses centimeters- well, u guys lose inches, 4 sure! :party6:
have my next one day after 2morrow! great! cant wait 4 the resulz!!!....
:jumping2::rolling2::jumping2:

03-11-2008, 03:15 PM
Yay, cyberella! You've been vacuumed!
It can be uncomfortable at first, but that's because of the tight, compacted layers of skin. As the treatment progresses and the skin becomes more supple, it feels great and you sometimes fall asleep on the table.
One note of advice: don't try to "tough it out" at a higher suction level because you think it's working better. If it hurts, your body will send fluid to the area and you will have inflammation - not what you want. Always ask the tech to dial it down if it hurts. It still works!
Did your tech take measurements and photos to begin with? If not, you should - you will see a difference! :flirt:
cyberella
03-12-2008, 06:45 AM
hey, mrs.peel!!
ya, it sux- but i cant wait till it sux again (all the ugly away)!!!
-2tomorrow!!! :party6::rolling2: :party6:
thanx 4 the tip!
the girl who's doing the treatment is very nice, yet very young, so i better make sure we follow your advice!
measuremenz and pics r nt necessary as i measure a lot & watch myself very carefully lately, so i notice every change instantly anyway... it would just b 4 the afterworld- and -- believe me--
noone is keen on my "crash-car"-dinz, i'm sure!!! :eyebrow:

Hi Cy, Bronwyn, Mrs Peel, Amylynn and all you other diet dynamos!!
The vacuum machine finally spat me out! Funny girl Cy....
Sorry all - I've been reading posts but since my stepmum arrived last Friday, we've been busy, busy, busy....SHOPPING!! It's just soooo nice having her here and sharing our day to day life here in Colorado. It's just started to snow again (it is spring right?) and we're heading to Denver Sat arvo just the two of us and I can't wait!! I love my darling children and hubby dearly - but I'm looking forward to having some timeout.
We're heading to a massive Metaphysical Fair on Sunday - suspect Cy that you would love to be able to join us if you could?? Good energies, crystals, books, music, clairvoyants... will be so uplifting. I use crystals, essential oils (was a massage therapist for a short time in recent years and used them extensively).
I've also started a new hobby this week thanks to my stepmum - jewellry beading! I'm loving it - it certainly occupies the hands when the mind wants to use them to put food into your mouth.
That's my life lately, so I will try to write more often. I'm still here and watching the posts as they unfold.
Now to the diet - hmmmm bit frustrated lately, not feeling the loss and wanting to deviate often. I said "wanting" not doing. I have hopped onto the scales a couple of times this week and I'm experiencing my first plateau. Same today as I was Monday. It's not TOM time but I've been bored with the food and a few times not wanting to eat as in would rather go without than "have that again"...:crying:
That's this week - today is a new day! I'm doing the diet but not as enthusiatically as before. Even though I bought some new clothes (thrift and new) and it felt fantastic to buy smaller. And my stepmum's reaction when she saw me was a real boost - I've just lost the Cohen's Crusade vibe!?
So just venting here as we all do and I think need to, I know it's not just about the physical changes doing Cohens, it's tied into the mental and emotional aspects also and I need to process those thoughts and feelings too. I'll get back on track to be sure to be sure (St Patricks day Monday....):stpatricks:
So loving you all from afar for now - will contribute some more very soon I promise. We can do it because we are doing it!
:love1:

So glad you have enjoyed yourself with your stepmom and had a little girl time. I would love to make jewelry. It's on my list to do. You and i are on the same wave length again. I have hit my plateau and the weight is not coming off like before. My will power has been tested and the "wanting" of the food has been much stronger than before. I know the 8 week weigh in is not going to produce the number I want and that my 12 weeks will surely increase....So... I went through a week of pity me...Now I'm ready to see this through. I pulled out my size 14 pants and have squeezed my big butt into a couple of them just so I could say that I'm in a smaller size. I might follow your lead and try to buy some new spring clothes. I've checked out some exercise videos to start toning up my thighs and buns...Hopefully by summer I'll have buns of steel. I have missed hearing from you-Hang in there.

hey, lost sisters!!
iz so good 2 hear from u again!! - megsy, i am relieved that the endermology left u in one piece,! and sorry- i could have thought about your visit myself and realized sooner that u were busy with your stepmom-- if i only had brains {rofl} !!!
mayb iz the lack of food (4 my head?) but i'm sometimes 4getful 2 a scary xtent: my sister said something the other day, (it was an answer) ... so i went: "xcuse me, what r u talking about?" and she replied:"well u just asked me ...
and this was my answer 2 u!!" {bangdesk}
well, u bet your bum - in case there's any left - that i'd looooove 2 join u guys!!
how did u ever find out?! :flirt:
i'm very happy that u have a wonderful time!!!!!!!
yeah and making jewellery is really fun and great! i used 2 do loz and loz and enjoyed it so very much!!!
and i am in xactly the same groove as u and amylynn r!!!
stuck on this {scream} plateau, am thinking more often of cheating, am less motivated, being not so precise with weighing my fruiz (cause i dont wanna know really- if this apple is 2 big or not- well, I KNOW IT IS 2 BIG, but better this than hungry...) aso...
the buns of steel seem sooooooo endlessly far away, these days!! yaaaawn!!!!

Hi Ladies!! Welcome back Megsy!!! Good to hear from you. Sounds like you've been keeping busy which is great. I want to go to that fair with you too! Sounds too cool, and yes, so Cyberella. I used to be so into that stuff and somehow over the years I got a bit removed from it. I'm finding I am wanting more and more to get back into that sort of spirituality, metaphysical way of life. I'm thinking of taking up Yoga as I think that'll work wonders for me physically and mentally.
I have to agree with you all and vent too that I'm also getting so tired of the same meals. Yes - I try new recipes, but they're all made from the same ingredients and spices and there's only so much variation you can come up with. My weight loss hasn't been as fast as I'd hoped either. I'm hoping when I get my new vitamins that will help as I found out there are a couple of ingredients in mine that may be slowing down my progress. I have made progress - and that's what keeps me going and keeps me from cheating - but I too have been finding myself longing for different foods and wishing I were at the end of this journey.
I LOVE these boards because it is so funny how we seem to be going through the same feelings at around the same times in our diets. Well ladies... I know we'll all hang in there and if anyone finds a miraculously different recipe to try or anything please let us all know!! I'm BORED!!!

.. girls, i confess: i almost only stir-fry myself mushrooms and zucchini as i like those the best (most likely they have the most content of starch .. HAHAHAHAHA .. wait 2 minuz and shasha will come in the game telling me 2 stop-- i feel that happens all the time when i like something!! {rofl}
i dont even post somethings cause of that.. :innocent4:
sorry, shasha-love *schmooze*, iz the game, not u, i know)..
anyway- i never get sick of it :hungry: and cant even imagine coming 2 the point that megsy describes as: rather nothing than that again! - woow!

hey, bronwyn-love! :party1:
i bought myself wafers, that r just so nice and go quite well with stevia-powder and cinnamon on top- ;)
i used 2 think shasha is making a choke- upps- wrong spelling!
a joke when posting that she'd sprinkle the cinnamon over her crackers.. then again, the spelling wasnt all that wrong: i thought one chokes when breathing while eating this
- but iz quite nice .. as a cookie inbetween, mayb with a cup of herbal tea or coffee!
u just need 2 check in your health store if they have any wafers (mine r made of corn-flour have less cals than all my other crackers) 4 allergix. and as they r so very light-weighed i can eat almost 4 pieces 2 not xceed the 11,8g!
iz not so much of an "amouse geule" as the frenchman says, but better than a :punch: in the face, i'd say...

Cyberella, I'm with you - I haven't had a problem with food boredom yet. In fact, MrPeel has already requested several of the recipes stay in our diet from now on - my Tilapia in Foil and the Spicy Cheesy Bits especially!
We were both eating buffalo before 1PD and are so thrilled that is is allowed, as we love it. MrPeel has a HUGE sweet tooth, so that is his toughest moment on the diet - he solves it with his fruit allowance - but my most-missed treat is an afternoon cup of PG Tips with milk & agave nectar!!!! I need my cuppa.
cyberella
03-16-2008, 06:21 PM
here comes the foreigner again:
what r PG Tips? - or is that the brand name of your -tea- i think it was  tea with milk is your favorite, rite?!
i dig on agave syrup and maple as well.. :P
is buffalo the mozzarella?
well, i am happy that moz is allowed eventhough i dont take it 2 often as iz not so much allowance in grams..
and hunger is an issue here! still... i get a bit ashamed by now, as i seem 2 b hoggish...
MrsPeel
03-16-2008, 07:33 PM
Sorry to be obscure! PG Tips is a brand of English tea, my favorite - and there is such a thing as bufalo mozzarella, but I was referring to actual buffalo - bison meat. It is much leaner and more flavorful than beef, and you can prepare it all the same ways.
Bronwyn
03-16-2008, 09:00 PM
Oh Mrs. Peel, What are your spicy cheese bits and have you already posted that recipe on here somewhere? They sound good as I LOVE spicy food and am not having it on this diet. Are we allowed to use chili powder?
Cyber-buddy! That sounds really yummy the cinnamon and stevia on crackers. I'm going to have to look for stevia too, but I'm not sure I'll like it if the after taste is something like licorice. Thanks for the idea! I'll have to see if I can find some wafers.
MrsPeel
03-16-2008, 09:40 PM
Hey, Bron!
The stevia aftertaste is fairly mild - it's just that it definitely is weird in coffee. The "diet cookie" trick with stevia and cinnamon tastes okay. I think we are supposed to use our cracker allowance for that - I have a feeling those wafers that cyberella is using aren't necessarily okay, being that they are made with corn.
As for my Spicy Cheesy Bits! I think I did post it once, but I will put in under recipes again. The seasoning I use is probably not acceptable to the plan (oops), but I use only a little. It's Tony Chachere's Creole Lite Seasoning, which has no MSG and is low-sodium. They don't divulge all their "secret" ingredients, but I bet there's some cayenne in there.
Bronwyn
03-17-2008, 10:57 AM
Thanks Mrs. Peel. I must admit that Mexican food is my absolute favorite and I miss it so much! There is only so much you can do with our ingredients. I'll look for the recipe and will try it out.
Shasha

{grouphug2}
Cyberella, I don't like the sound of corn crackers either and recommend you ask your consultant about those before they slow down your progress :-(
Mrs Peel - :noway: is Tony Chachere's Creole Lite Seasoning allowed, {sorry}, but I don't want NOTHING slowing down your progress!!!
Bronwyn (& Mr & Mrs Peel): About chillies: If you are following your eating plan and you are NOT HUNGRY, you may decide to use green chillies to flavour your food (NEVER RED). No more than 3 times a week and PROVIDING THAT THE CHILLIES DO NOT TRIGGER HUNGER FOR YOU...
Reading these posts is so nice because they show the good, the bad, the happy and the sad of dieting... I can relate to how you are feeling and I believe it's very important that at this time in your diet we all take a look at WHY you started to do the 1st Personal Diet Program in the first place...
So, ladies and everyone reading this, I'd like you all to come for coffee and share you LIST of reasons WHY you started to DIET in the first place...
Not only will it be nice to know everyone better, but it will be amazing to see what drove you to this point in the first place. I believe this experience can really help to reconnect you to back to your MOTIVATION for starting this race so, I'm off to the COFFEE CLUTCH to open a new thread and want to hear from all of you there soon! {cheerleader}

ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMINE MONONITRATE (VITAMIN B1), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), FOLIC ACID), SOYBEAN OIL, SALT, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED COTTONSEED OIL, MALTED BARLEY FLOUR, BAKING SODA, VEGETABLE MONOGLYCERIDES (EMULSIFIER).
thaz the ingredienz list of.... nabisco premium saltines, as far as i observed, they r allowed on the program!! (i googled the saltine-allowances and found the ingredient-lists.)
thaz the ingredienz list of my wafers: corn flour, water, fibre, salt.
i bet mine is ok-
dont u think?
it doesnt contain any hydrogenated faz or high fructose corn syrup-
they r almost like air, anyway!!

:applause::applause:Hi Cyberella -- on page 14 of the 1PD Guide regarding carbs & crackers it says
"Carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are restricted while you are on the diet, to allow the balance in the body to be restored. (No bread of any kind is allowed.) The only carbohydrates allowed are:
CRACKERS
The number of crackers allowed on your personal diet page is based on 5.85 g cracker. If your cracker weighs less or more than 5.85 g - calculate how many crackers you can eat every day."
(and this is the important bit): "The recommended ingredients are (per 100g): Energy 1720kJ/411.05 k/cal, Protein 12.80g, Carbohydrates 71.50 g. Total Fat 7.90g"
So, sugars "energy", fats and carbs are most definitely allowed in these crackers, as long as your quantity of crackers is calculated according to a 5.85 g cracker.
My guide, however, does not include corn on the list of vegetables allowed.
I'm worried that you might be sabotaging your diet one cracker at a time in tiny little increments. Because the recommended ingredients in the recommended crackers have been TESTED by Dr. Cohen, it seems to me that to be sure you do well and have no slow down on your weight loss, one should use the tested crackers (or at least find a similar cracker with similar quantities and types of ingredients.)
You're doing the veggie version, yes? Is corn on that list, or not? If the answer is "no, corn is not on the list", then your crackers should probably not be made of corn, do you think?
I want you to WIN on this! :-) Best, Gail
MrsPeel
03-24-2008, 12:36 PM
Hey, cyberella!
Gail is right - no corn allowed. This is not just because of the sugar content, but aside from Dr. Cohen's plan, my nutritionist had taken me off corn long ago as it is one of the very common low-level allergy foods which tend to cause women to hold onto fat, or gain "false fat".
And believe me, I LOVE corn! But not right now . . .

Thanks so much, Gail! It means a lot to get encouragement from a successful "graduate"!
I was hoping to make it all the way to the halfway mark by re-upping time, so I'm a little short, but I will try my darndest to lose the rest in another 12 weeks - I expect it will slow even more, though, as I get to the end pounds.
Doesn't matter - I will make it, in however many weeks it takes! :weights2:

u girls r so very nice and supportive!!
i agree: go mrs.peel, go!!!!
i'm puzzled a bit:
isnt starch all2gether 4bidden on the plan?
so, wheat and all other flours in crackers also?
what r the recommended crackers made of?
as i cant buy any of those from the list, i have 2 find my own-
i use mostly ones made of spelt or rye.
the corn crackers i only ate about 3 times so far..
cyberella
03-27-2008, 08:42 AM
hey, my dearest!
as i found out with the consultanz the cracker of any kind of grain r ok!
cracker as i thought, r some kind of "cheat" anyway, as all carbs r forbidden land rite now...
so there is no difference bteen corn, spelt, millet, rye, rice, wheat aso, as they all r limited 2 11,7g per serving.
now, i found out about some millet balls -they r very lite-weightwise- contain only millet salt and water and r a snack from the health store-
i bet u find those in the us as well-
i can have 38 millet balls in one serving :munchies:- jjjiiihhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! :party1:
they taste a bit like peanut or cheese flips, just without the peanut or the chesse... :P
better than popcorn!!
btw. just in case someone wanz 2 know: yeast as ingredient of crackers is ok, 2!
GailStout
03-27-2008, 09:03 AM
Hey there! I'm glad that you checked with your consultant! The trick is to make sure that whatever cracker you use as your "only carb allowed on the diet" doesn't make you HUNGRY after you eat it! Cuz if it does, you should try something else!
