Hey!
I'm not a fan, I still don't understand or know who is who. Last night I took my oldest daughter (10 yrs. old) to see it on the big screen. She has become a fan since her last year's birthday in November when one of her friends gave her one of the books as a present. Since then, she has devoured all the books and we have hired the videos to watch at home. So, this was a big treat for her.

Anyways, what I know from the lastest movie is what they ate! In one scene at the main dining room they had Jelly with whipped cream. On a private party with one of the professors they were having a huge bowl of caramel ice cream, at a pub/restaurant they were drinking peanut butter beer (??!!), cookies, pies etc., etc. Needless to say, I was hungry! My daughter was hungry too. I've bought the tickets in advance, so we got there few minutes before it started, but it was so crowded that I couldn't buy popcorn and a drink for her. I was sort of prepared, I had an apple in my bag. Finally, while they were playing that interesting game on their brooms, I rushed to buy popcorn for her and 2 drinks.

What I want to point out is that I've never liked any of those foods, but I came home wanted to have them. Of course I didn't, I fixed my dinner and drank a lot of water!

There must be some sort of deal worked out with the movie manufacturer and a food company!!! Subliminal messages can really work on our brains! Be strong, my friend, and avoid all those nasty HP foods!!! (that includes the ear wax flavored jelly beans!!! LOL)

I hate when movies/TV have that affect on me!

Last night I was watching TV and there was a commercial for Baskin Robbins ice cream cakes... omg, my mouth literally WATERED. In fact, it watered again just now thinking about it.

My husband and I have been reading a really interesting book called The End of Overeating, in which the author talks about the combinations of fat, sugar and salt and how the trigger the body (and brain) to want more more MORE. They studied rats reactions, and reading the book is ASTOUNDING.

Phyllis is right, food companies are definitely involved! I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I am sure now that companies know the science of how our bodies react and get literally addicted to food- and they use it to make us spend our money on their products that are SO BAD FOR US.

The experience on 1PD and reading that book are soooo eye-opening. Way to have will power, Dayanira- it's not easy!!!

I just saw Julia and Julia. It was all about food, but I loved the show. You need to go see it! Don't forget to take your apple though! :thinking:You guys might be to young to know who Julia Childs was.

Ooh, I am going to Julie and Julia this week! Glad to hear it is a good movie.

I had the same feeling last week when I took my daughters to the latest Harry Potter movie, it was hard enough to sit through a movie without my beloved Peanut Chews, but then there was so much delicious looking food on the screen! In the end I was proud to have limited myself to water, crackers and an apple. It is amazing what a powerful trigger to over eat certain events like movies are for me. I am glad I am starting to form new habits around these events.

We went to see the movie on Saturday, it was pretty cute. I never saw Julia on TV, but I know who she is.
