This is my first time posting pictures... hope I do it correctly.

The first picture is me and my oldest sister at our family reunion last September. I'm the fatty on the left.

The second picture was taken 3 days ago at our family reunion... I actually tear up when I see the changes this diet has made... kinda dramatic, don't you think? $: )

Thanks everyone. It's nice to hear that I look radiant... because I actually feel radiant. I'm sure it has a lot to do with not hauling around all that extra weight but there's something that has happened inside my head as well as to my physical body. If I had to name that feeling, I think I'd call it self-respect. I have a much stronger desire to be an active participant in my own life than ever before. Here's something I never told anyone before - one of the reasons I started this journey was because I didn't want to die a fat person. Now I think it's ironic - before starting 1PD I was happy to live as a fat person but didn't want to die and have unknown people dealing with my fat dead body. I guess I'm happy to have made it here - whatever crazy thinking it took. I'm no longer woried about dying fat... I'm crazy about living this beautiful life.

WOW, indeed. :applause: What an accomplishment and how inspiring:clapping3: ... there is light at the end of the tunnel. You enjoy life, but I don't think we should be ashamed of being overweight. The biochemistry of the body has a lot to do with who gains and who doesn't. My orthopaedic surgeon is quite overweight yet she is extremely accomplished. I know someone who gained weight, serious weight, on less than 500 calories a day for 2 months. Also there have been scientifically controlled studies where they locked people up and fed them 600 calories and lots still gained weight. Sorry about the rent but it upsets me that society has made people who area overweight to feel so ashamed ... And Key, given how much funeral homes charge, they should be thanking you for letting them handle your body no matter what it's like{duh} Still, if it motivated you to enter this journey, I guess it's good!
