Hello All!

I am new to 1pd and this forum. I have been on the program for about two weeks. After getting through the first 4 days I felt great. But I suffer from IBS and I had a horrible attack  after a week and a half. I would love to hear from fellow IBS sufferers and any tips you have to help me work 1pd and my IBS so I can continue to succeed in accomplishing my weight loss goal!

Welcome. And on the flip side, my daughter has had IBS for about 10 years. I would really like to know how you do. She does not have a lot to lose, but maybe being on this plan would get her IBS under control.

Hi Kimbee,
Warm welcome to you. I don't suffer IBS, I just want to say that 1PD may be the answer for you and for other sufferers. It will be very interesting to follow your journey.

:hii: Hi Kimbee, I'm into this about two weeks also. I suffer from diverticulitis, and have had a flare up during these two weeks. I don't know if it is the same as IBS but, think it might somewhat be. I worry about not eating whole grains, beans, or more fiber. I'm afraid of getting a bad attack. (very painful). Maybe my body just needs to adjust to this new diet. Anyway, when I read about the diet, it said it "helped" these problems. Let's hope so! 14 pounds!!! You are doing great!

Hi Jgiolas and Kimbee,
This diet DOES help with diverticulitis. I have it too, and so far (knock wood!), 23 weeks on the diet I haven't had any flare up. I think the water is helping a lot.

Take care, both of you are doing great!

IBS and Diverticulitis do have some similarities. I have not had another attack since after the first 12 days. I am feeling much better and have almost none of my IBS symptoms right now. I hope the diet works as well for you Jgiolas. You could check in with your doctor about it if you continue not to feel well. I took the diet to my doctor to review it with him and he thought it was fine. Keep up the good work.

Dayanira, wow you have lost a lot of weight and are so close to re-feeding! And to have your Diverticulitis under control is a major bonus. This gives me great hope and motivation!:party3:

Kimbee, I'm glad you are feeling better!! I had to go off the diet for a couple of weeks. I can start up again next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

jgiolas,

Sorry to hear that you had to go off the diet. During my IBS attack during week 2 I did go on bread and water for a few days before starting up again with the diet.

I hope you are feeling better and the diet goes more smoothly for you the second time around.
