Does anyone know if I'll need to do another blood test-follow up in order to start the re-feed? I just informed my consultant today that I was five pounds away from my goal and when they replied, there was no mention of taking another blood test. The problem is, I only have this week to take one, if I need it. Starting next week I have 4 weeks of training at work and will not be able to get time off for a test.
I'm so excited to start eating "new" foods again and have some variety back in the diet!

Yes...you need another Basic Metabolic blood test (non-fasting). I just corresponded with my consultant about this very issue AND the fact that my 12-weeks (like my 4th or something) is running out in a few days and whether they were going to make me re-up for another 12 weeks in order to get my refeed. I just need to get my blood test and they'll take that as my refeed order and I won't have to pay for yet another 12-weeks. That's good!
So, to answer your question again...you need a basic metabolic blood test.

Good to know Phyllis. I was just wondering about that.

I received my re-feeding last week, and wasn't asked for another blood work. That rather surprised me.

{hi} there Diet Buddies
Normally blood tests are required on 4 weeks for Dr Cohen to monitor your progress and to see how you are doing.
If you have been for your 4 week blood test and reach your goal weigh within the first 12 weeks, you won’t be asked to go for another blood test, Dr Cohen will use your 4 week blood test to write your Re-feeding Program.
If you haven’t been for a 4 week blood test and you are reach your goal weight and ask for your Re-feeding Program at 11 weeks, you will be asked to go for a blood test at that time because Dr Cohen cannot calculate a Re-feeding Program for you if he does not have a follow up blood test.
Normally you will be asked to go for additional blood tests if you need more than 12 weeks to reach your goal, in this case, blood tests will be requested on 12, 16 and every 8 weeks following this. {wave}
