Okay...so I was supposed to start my diet 3 months ago when I purchased it...but I didnt..today was my first official day...so I figured I could just pick it up...if I dont lose anything in 2 weeks then Ill consider purchasing again...but
is it just me or is this a really low calorie diet? I entered in my intake for the day on a food log and it told me 500 calories....is this right?
I dont have a gram scale but I do have an analog ounce scale and I think I do a pretty good job at measuring correctly...when I get paid Ill consider getting a digital but for the next two weeks Ill be using the analog...none of my measurements go beyond 4.2 ounces.....thats not alot of chicken and fish, but the vegetable intake is okay.
Ive ate 2 of my allowed fruit, and 2 cups of green tea using 4 packets of splenda total. One coke zero. Vinegar for dressing, pepper and salt.
No crackers.
Can anyone share details of their meals so that I can be clear....it dosent scare me that the intake is low but I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing!

Yeah, I added up my total calories when I first started and it also came to about 500. That is very low, but it works. I agree that it's not much chicken or fish but somehow it leaves me feeling full after every meal.
Sounds to me like you're doing the right thing! As long as you're converting the ounces from grams correctly. Everything else looks good. Keep up the good work. :) I'm sure you'll find that weight is coming off real fast.
You'll probably want to sign up at some point before you reach your goal weight so you can get the re-feeding program. My sister did the diet and reached her goal but never did re-feed as her 12 weeks was up & she didn't want to pay more $$ and eventually gained all the weight back.

Thanks so much for the reply. And yes - I just finished my last meal and it was really good lol and I am fulfilled...but during the day its a different story...I'm used to being hungry tho...only at the end of the day I'm used to being able to eat whatever because I feel like I havent ate much for the day...but anyway
Thank you! and I do plan to refeed because when I reach my target theres no way I'm gonna even risk gaining all of the weight back.

Hi Lovelydovely.....welcome to our little Cohen world!!! And yes, 500 calories sounds about right! Amazing, isn't it?!
I highly recommend getting a digital scale that weighs in grams...it's more accurate.
Now that you've decided to get on board with the diet please stay strong and keep to the plan 100%. I've seen a lot of people on this forum who've started out great guns and then little by little have cheated their way into failure and eventually gone from the plan altogether. I don't want that to happen to anyone!! This diet works and the results are fantastic! I've lost a grand total so far of 128 pounds! I only have 15 more to go and although the weightloss is slowing down I'm still gonna make it ALL THE WAY!!!
Keep coming to this forum for support and information...glad to have you with us!

Wow, 500 calorie a day- I had no idea. I use to eat that in one meal.

Congratulations to all! This is my first time joining in, so I am still working displaying my weight loss results. I loss 20 lbs the first 4 weeks and now in my 7th week and I need encouragement big time. Out of no where I am craving salt and chocolate; its driving me crazy. The truth is that I do not like salt and has never used it; however, I did go buy sea salt and sprinkled it on my food. Any suggestions for the chocolate craving?

Drink more water and take an extra vitamin for a few days!! It's ok that you succumbed to adding a LITTLE TINY bit of salt to your diet, but PLEASE do NOT give in to the chocolate temptress!!!!! I've found that when chocolate calls to me (it's usually in the form of a frosted brownie!!!!) if I take a really deep sniff of the thing, it satisfies my craving! Give it a try! BUT DON'T EAT IT!!!! LOL

No....salt is not illegal....it's just that it can make you retain water. Just use it sparingly....don't dump a whole bunch onto your little, tiny piece of meat....grin!

Hi Lovelydovely and Fit4Life,
Welcome to this great journey!
The digital scale is a must, but I can understand that if you don't have the money right now, try to do the best with the measurements.
Just a reminder that this diet is not calorie based. I think I read a post from Shasha somewhere explaining why diets that are calories based do NOT work. (I think the post was in CohenInAz).
Look forward to see your rapid progress!
When I'm craving chocolate or a sweet I make the sliced apple, cinnamin & diet coke w/ some mini saltines. The apple tastes like the inside of apple pie and the little amount of salt on the crackers is great, add a cup of tea & it really gets me past the cravings.
Goodluck, push through it will pass-
(also get some good sugarless gum)

I was talking to my friend on the phone this week and she is the first one who told me about the diet, about a year ago. She lives out of state and I hadn't seen her in a while. She lost 30 pounds!
Then another friend told me about the diet recently and that is when I signed up.
Both of them lost a lot of weight and then got "cocky" about it, started to think they could just do it on their own and never went onto the re-feed program. They each would "take breaks" from the diet!
Guess what happened? Yep, you got it! Put all the weight back on! So, this plan has to be completed all the way through. Both of them told me, over and over, do it all the way through and you'll never have a problem.
I'm just starting my 4th week today and I am down 15 pounds. I have 10 more to go and my clothes are falling off of me.
I feel so fantastic! Never tired, tons of energy, my skin glows, my muscles are tight and I sleep all the way through the night.
I've hit hard points on this and my trigger is if I am just sitting around watching a movie. If I keep busy, don't notice any hunger or cravings. So at 8:00 at night when it starts to be difficult, I take my dog for a walk.
Now, not only am I getting healthier, so is my dog! LOL I think he loves this diet too!

I would say I'm doing kinda okay everybody..i weighed in at 260 the first day I started..@ 6am...and i weighed in today at 254 @ 6am!...maybe the scale is playin tricks on me but 6lbs in almost a week (tomorrow will be seven days), is really good for me! I even wore a pair of jeans that were really uncomfortable to put on a few weeks back and they werent as uncomfortable....I'm not gonna document my weight until after the first month but I'm totally inlove with this diet so far!

Great job Lovely!!! You are out of the gate and starting the race of your life!!! Your starting weight was about 20 pounds less than mine. When I started the diet I thought I'd NEVER get to the end. I kept watching my ticker slooooooowly move across the tape. NOW I'm only 12 pounds away from my goal!!! So....stay strong...do NOT cheat intentionally!!! Stay true to the plan that Dr. Cohen developed for you...he's the expert! Before you know it the clothes will be falling off of you and people are gonna start seeing a change in you. Just wait until you see people that you haven't seen before starting the diet and they don't recognize you!!!! LOL...that's really bizarre!
Good luck and enjoy the ride to health and fitness!!
Phyllis
