what do you do IF you are soooo hungry and cant control your appetite???!
i guess do 48 hours NO CARBS:-). carbs only once a day and dont forget your vitamin. i cant take them twice a day now since it contains iron and calcium to interfere with my medication. does anyone know if you can take them at lunch and dinner? also does anyone have trouble taking the centrum once a day two times in one day?!(i.e. causing constipation...)
and is it true you need to wait 3 months to get back on plan after having surgery? who has trouble controlling their appetite when exercising, specifically lots of high intensity cardio?? will this increase an appetite for carbs? in that case, is walking just as effective or better since it doesnt make you hungry?

Hi Alabama!
It is my understanding that if you excerise regularly, then you can have more that just one serving of carbs per day. But ONLY if you are exercising. Otherwise, Dr. Cohen says one time a day on the carbs issue.
Any extra carbs and you will start to gain weight because your body will store it and convert it to fat. Exercise will help burn it off before it is stored.
I learned my lesson with this. I ate more carbs without always exercising and last weekend, I reached 3 pounds over the high end of Dr. Cohen's goal for me. I am back on the diet for two weeks only to go back down to the low end of the range. I mostly crave extra carbs during PMS and that does me in. Once I am back down, I will try to follow the rules, but exercise almost daily. I am doing more weight lifting right now to grow strong muscle, which burns more calories at rest, and moderate cardio. Trying to find a good balance is key, but I think doing only cardio would make me hungrier.
I only take one vitamin a day. I never took two.
Good luck...I know it is hard to manage the appetite!

I am about a week away from completing my re-feed and have started exercising. The hunger hasn't been a problem but what I do is eat my largest meal either right before or right after I work out at night.
Also, DO IT ON A GRADIENT! I just started to lift the weights slowly and worked more on stretching. I avoided any cardio for the first week and now I am easing back into it very slowly.
I ended up losing another pound, but I am going slow and really listening to my body. In the morning the muscles are very slightly sore, which is how you want it. Either skip a day or do a light walk.
The body will respond but not if you rush it. I figure within a month I'll be back up to the higher level that I was before the diet.
Hope this helps!
